12.01.2022 IMPORTANT BUSINESS UPDATE As the Coronavirus pandemic continues we have currently restricted our trading hours (10am-5pm weekdays, 9am-12pm Saturday) and will sadly temporarily close our practice doors to the public from 12pm Saturday 4th of April to help minimise the spread of the virus. The Department of Health has advised that for the safety of our staff and patients, optometrists should now be limiting themselves to seeing only urgent cases.... Examples of problems that need to be assessed include: Pain or redness; Blurred vision; Double vision; Flashing lights; Floating spots; and/or Peripheral vision disturbance. If you're unsure whether you need to be seen, please give us a call. We will still have our phone line operating to speak with you about any concerns. If you're due for your regular checkup and you think it can wait, that's fine. We're not going anywhere, and we'll see you once things settle down. But if you need us urgently, we're still here to help. For those of you that have ordered spectacles recently, we will be in contact once they have arrived to organise the delivery of the spectacles. If you are in urgent need of a new pair of spectacles or need to reorder contact lenses please contact the practice on 0885227611 or email us [email protected]. These are uncertain times for all of us and we thank you for your support and understanding. 04.01.2022 If you have something stuck in your eye, clean your hands for at least 20 seconds, using soap and clean water and dry them with a clean towel, then, wash your eyes out with sterile saline or a lubricant eye drop. If eye itchiness or sore eye is a persistent problem, book an appointment to see our optometrist Chris McTaggart. He will cautiously check your eye and identify the source of your discomfort. In some cases, he will need to remove a foreign matter inside your eye, he has developed extensive experience doing such things.
