19.01.2022 Meet the face behind Eye Design Studio Hi Everyone, I wanted to quickly introduce myself to you all. I’m Emily, the owner / operator of Eye Design Studio. I’m a Certified Lash Artist & Beauty Therapist & have a passion for creating amazing eyelashes!... I began my journey during the completion of a Diploma in Beauty Therapy in 2010. I then furthered my education by completing my training in Classic & Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions. I specialises in handmade Russian Volume lashes and cannot wait to create amazing eyelash sets for you all in the new year!

13.01.2022 Sounds silly right? Because it is. When I hear lash techs are only doing 30min appts for 2, 3 or 4 week refills I am gobsmacked. Let me break it down for you:... 1. Client lies down (2mins) 2. Apply pads to eyes (2mins) 3. Check lashes for outgrown lashes & remove (5mins) 4. Cleanse and/or prime lashes (2mins) POST APPT: 1. Check for stickies (2mins) 2. Remove eyepads, brush lashes & allow client to fan eyes (2mins) 3. Client pays & rebooks (2 mins) The above is approx 17mins, leaving 13mins to fill your lashes. That is NOT ENOUGH. On average, we lose 2-5 lashes a day through the natural shedding process. 2 weeks: 28-70 extensions 3 weeks: 42-105 extensions (approx 50% of lashes) 4 weeks: 56-140 extensions Based on the numbers above, it would take a magician to replace those lash extensions & more in 13mins. Safely applied lashes take time. A full looking set takes time - even for the experienced lash artist. Applying Lash Extensions is an art.
