17.01.2022 Whether it’s donuts, puppies or movies, we all love our treats. But our eyes need treating too! It has been estimated that 300,000 Aussies are affected by glaucoma. In the early stages glaucoma has no symptoms and left untreated it will gradually damage a persons peripheral vision. Another reason why everyone over 40 should regularly have their eyes treated. Testing for glaucoma is part of the routine eye test. If you are due for an eye test book online at https://www.eyeson.com.au/book-online/

13.01.2022 Cataracts are a common cause of vision impairment in our community. The constant exposure to UV light and age causes the lens of the eye to slowly become cloudy. While we can't prevent cataracts, making healthy lifestyle choices can slow the progression. Always have UV protection outside (Sunglasses and a hat), avoid smoking and eat healthy foods. Book an appointment to talk to one of our experts today and be Cataract Aware. www.eyeson.com.au

10.01.2022 Is your mask fogging up your glasses? Make sure your mask is fitting securely and tight around your face - loose masks will allow hot air to escape. Also, before you put on your glasses, wash them with soapy water and let them air dry or clean them with a soft tissue. Stay safe everyone!

09.01.2022 Short sightedness or myopia is a progressive condition that is thought to be caused by both genetic and environmental factors. Recent studies have shown that excessive near work and indoor time can cause an increase in myopia in children. We now know that 90 minutes a day outdoors can reduce the risk of a child developing myopia. Reducing the amount of screen time and spending a little bit more play time outdoors is good for the health of your child's eyes and is also a lot of fun!

05.01.2022 We're are all looking forward to spending time out doors with friends and family. Don't forget to protect your eyes. Excessive UV exposure can cause damage to the eyes. Always wear a hat and good quality sunglasses to protect your eyes. All sunglasses protect from UV rays but the level of protect varies depending on the lenses. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, at the beach or driving then Polaroid lenses are the best option. They provide the most glare protection. Tinted lenses are better suited for casual wear. If you are unsure of what sunglasses are right for you pop in to any of stores, we're happy to help. And have a great summer!
