17.01.2022 Yesterday all year 5 and 6 students enjoyed a very informative session on internet safety by Eyes Open Social Media Safety. The talk coincided with Safer Intern...et Day. The vision of Safer Internet Day is on making online experiences better for everyone and is a world-wide event. The office of the eSafety Commissioner has a number of resources for families. You can find those resources here: https://www.esafety.gov.au/about-//safer-internet-day-2021 To access a very informative blog by Eyes Open Social Media, go to: https://eyesopensocialmedia.com.au/blog/

12.01.2022 A current example of past posts to social media limiting a dream opportunity. What we do on social media today will be there forever. Maybe even well after we’ve deleted it, apologised and probably grown from the experience.... #ThinkBeforeYouPost https://www.9news.com.au//072922a1-1c09-4397-97e3-2893891c

02.01.2022 Whilst the internet should be a fun, connective and educational space for young people, 1 in 5 students report being socially excluded, threatened or abused online. The actual stats are most likely much higher than this. Today on National Day of Action Against Bullying & Violence we can make a difference by talking with our children about their experiences...... Making sure they know we are always there to support them; and Helping to find and practice steps they can take online if they encounter toxic behaviour. This may be to practice taking screen shots, looking for the reporting options on their favourite sites or reminding them that they should never engage in a toxic post. If you would like a flyer with some of the steps you can teach your children or students, please don’t hesitate to send us a message. #nda #cyberbulling #cybersafety #cybersafetytips #eyesopen
