24.01.2022 The bushfires that impacted Victoria during the 2019/2020 bushfire season were unprecedented in scale and ferocity. We couldn’t be more proud of how Victoria Police officers displayed such remarkable strength and resilience, met with gratitude from the community, during a bushfire season the world will never forget. To highlight their contribution and efforts, we have created a dedicated website, Victorian Bushfires Remembered, an online exhibition created to mark the 12-mont...h anniversary of the conclusion of the Victorian Government-declared State of Disaster. The online exhibition captures the extraordinary contribution police made in protecting the community and keeping Victorians safe. In honour of all the communities and our partnering emergency services, we encourage you to read the stories of help, loss and the recovery of Victoria. https://bit.ly/2LuRQ4y

23.01.2022 If an offer of #QuickCash or #EasyMoney seems too good to be true, it probably is. Money muling is a type of money laundering. A ‘money mule’ is a person who receives money from a third party in their bank account and transfers it to another account, or withdraws it in cash to give to someone else, obtaining a commission for their efforts.... Simply put, money mules help criminal syndicates move money around the world, but the consequences for the money mules can be severe. 19.01.2022 **Feel Good Friday** *Dementia & policing - Small acts of love* Small Acts of Love recognises that beyond romanticised ideals of love there are skills that can help us to renegotiate relationships and rebuild connections when someone we love has dementia. These actions to renegotiate and rebuild are Small Acts of Love. Love matters in the lives of people with dementia and so, as Alain de Botton said, we must study it. We need to be more aware, more valuing and better skill...ed. All of us. On this page/link below we share resources from the Symposium and our other work on dementia and love. https://www.museumoflove.com.au/small-acts-of-love.html An opportunity was identified to host a dementia and policing workshop because community members began to share stories about policing and the safety of people with dementia - particularly in the context of intimate relationships. A decision was made to circulate a short online survey to capture the key issues and suggested strategies that could inform the workshop. The reaction was powerful - 55 responses in 10 days. Data from the survey and the workshop was analysed and a report is available here; https://www.museumoflove.com.au//policingdementiareport5.p
