25.01.2022 Police and PSOs conduct regular patrols of the Gippsland rail corridor from Pakenham to Bairnsdale. These daily patrols are performed by police and PSOs in uniform and plain clothes who are looking to ensure that everyone is adhering to the Chief Health Officer directions. In particular, they are focused on passengers who are travelling from metropolitan Melbourne. A number of infringement notices have been issued as a result. Police are reminding the community to be aware of travel restrictions in place and to keep safe during this time.



24.01.2022 On the 16/11/2020 at approximately 8:00pm, a male victim was exiting the Traralgon Plaza and returning to his parked car. 3 x offenders followed the victim and smashed his front drivers side window and assaulted him. The victim received a number of injuries as a result of the assault. This incident was captured on CCTV footage and Police have arrested and charged 2 of the 3 offenders. Police are seeking the publics help into the identity of the third suspect. He is described ...as: Caucasian, 185cm tall, thin build, short brown hair, with a tattoo covering his whole left leg. The Farm Crime Coordination Unit and Farm Crime Liaison Officers at Victoria Police would like to remind livestock owners to be vigilant in protecting your livestock. With lambing season upon us, it is important to put measures in place to prevent thieves from stealing your livelihood. * Conduct regular inspections and counts of livestock * Ensure all livestock are appropriately tagged * Keep an eye out for strange vehicles or people in your ...area * Check fences and gates for condition, especially along side roads look for evidence of tampering or disrepair * Install sensor lighting on sheds, at yards and around shearing sheds * Install overt CCTV or trail cameras along with appropriate warning signage * Ensure regular attendance at uninhabited properties Victoria Police has Farm Crime Liaison Officers based in stations across the state that specialise in assisting with farm related crimes. Report all livestock theft, even if it happened several months ago. It will help us determine patterns of offending. 22.01.2022 Police are seeking any information relating to 2 vehicles fires that occurred in May this year; Incident 1 - On 03/05/2020 at approximately 1:30PM a white Toyota Hilux dual cab Ute was found burnt out in a pine plantation near Marretts Road in Hernes Oak. The vehicle had been reported stolen from an address in Traralgon the day before. Incident 2 - Between 14/05/20 and 15/05/20 a victims vehicle had broken down near Scrubby Lane in Traralgon. The victim returned to the vehic...le the following morning, and found the vehicle burnt out. 21.01.2022 Warragul Detectives are seeking information regarding an unprovoked serious assault on a 34 year old female victim. At approximately 1.45am on Saturday the 29th August, 2020 the victim was attacked by a female offender outside a block of units situated at 57 Latrobe Street, Warragul. During the attack the victim was stabbed on multiple occasions and she sustained serious internal injuries requiring surgery. The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. The offender is described as being female, aged in her late teens to mid 20s, tanned or dark complexion, approximately 155-165cm tall and wearing blue jeans and a jacket or jumper. Investigators believe that a number of persons have witnessed the attack and they urge those people to contact Crime stoppers or Warragul CIU on 56227111.

16.01.2022 Police are seeking information regarding the theft of a purse from Coles supermarket in Morwell. Police believe the male pictured may be able to assist with enquiries. At 5:04pm on Saturday 01/08/2020 the elderly female victim had her purse sitting on the cigarette counter and forgot to pick it up as she was leaving. The male (pictured) who had been standing next to the victim, then picked up the purse and placed it into his pocket before leaving the store. The male was seen walking past the victim as he left the store, and made no attempt to return the purse to her. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has information as to the identity of the male is urged to contact F/C FRANCIS-KELLY at the Morwell Police Station on 5131 5000

15.01.2022 Operation Blind Site run out of Moe on the 9th and 10th of November 2020 with the assistance of Latrobe Highway Patrol. The operation focused on school zone and high collisions locations enforcing speed limits. In total: 5,452 vehicles checks (With the assistance of the ANPR vehicles) 514 PBTs conducted... 56 Penalty Notices Issued 1 Defect Notice issued Police will continue to be out on the roads to ensure all road users are safe.

12.01.2022 A 52-year-old Rowville woman, who was the driver of the car, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, drive in a manner dangerous, careless driving and fail to give way at an intersection give way sign.

12.01.2022 There have recently been groups of between 3 to 6 youths involved in thefts and credit card deceptions committed in Warragul and Traralgon. These incidents have been committed when these groups attend mainly, however not limited to, sports stores and liquor outlets during daytime hours. The incidents involve one or more persons distracting staff in a shop during a purchase using a stolen credit card or card with no funds available. Other offenders within the group then d...istract the shop keeper while the first offender steals the selected items from the store. It is after the offenders have left that the store owner realises the credit card purchase was declined. It is believed the offenders are mainly travelling by train but there have been incidents of them using vehicles. Police want shop owners to be vigilant and alert if a suspect groups of youths enter their businesses, and to call police immediately.

10.01.2022 A motorist who had just filled their car up with petrol was lucky to escape injury early this morning after a milk tanker lost control and crashed into a service station including their car in Traralgon. 08.01.2022 Its hard to make an honest living when someone steals your tools - Police are appealing for assistance in relation to the theft of a log splitter - similar to the one pictured. The splitter was stolen from a property in Yarragon (Shady Creek) overnight on 01/09/2020. 05.01.2022 The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood watch for the Gippsland and Upper Murray catchment areas. There is a risk of heavy falls across Gippsland and parts of the Upper Murray catchment during Saturday and Sunday. With forecast rainfall, river rises are expected. Moderate to major flooding is possible in Snowy, Bemm, Cann and Genoa river catchments and minor flooding may develop across the rest of flood watch area from Saturday afternoon. 04.01.2022 The 36-year-old driver, who was an unlicensed learner, returned a reading of .304 Matters only got worse for the Traralgon man when checks revealed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant relating to a previous drink driving matter in February this year. He was taken into custody by police and his car was immediately impounded at a cost of $1005. It is expected he will be charged in summons with drink driving related offences.

01.01.2022 A 57-year-old Traralgon man was located deceased at the scene of the fire on Cowell Court just before 11pm. A crime scene was initially established, and an arson chemist attended the site and have deemed the fire non-suspicious.
