25.01.2022 ***Arrests re Theft From Motor Vehicles*** Footscray Police were patrolling the Braybrook area in the early hours of Thursday morning when they noticed two suspicious males in a vehicle on Darnley Street. A search of the vehicle located illicit drugs and a large amount of stolen property believed to be from vehicle thefts. Constable Mandica stated that a 31 year old Gisbourne male had been charged with numerous offences including Theft from Motor Vehicle, Possess Drug of De...pendence and Handle Stolen Goods and was bailed to attend Sunshine Magistrates Court at a later date. A 37 year old Sunshine male was also interviewed and released pending further enquiries. Constable Mandica advised that most of the recovered property had been stolen from unlocked vehicles. He urged members of the public to never leave valuable items in their vehicle for any length of time and always make sure that their vehicles are locked. He said even if you are only going to be away from your vehicle for a couple of minutes, that is long enough for someone to break in and you should always lock the vehicle if it is out of your sight.

25.01.2022 Westgate Highway Patrol have been receiving reports of hoon driving in the area. This driver in Altona caught the attention of police, not sure if it was the fake taxi sign... or the bad paint job... or maybe it was the sparks flying off the rims while doing a burnout. Fortunately for this AU Falcon, it was impounded before any more damage was done. The male driver will appear before a court with a plethora of driving charges.

23.01.2022 Found a bargain online? Don’t be a tool If you think you’re getting a deal too good to be true, it probably is. To assist with the recovery of stolen tools, Crime Stoppers Victoria and Victoria Police are encouraging tradies to engrave or mark tools for easy identification. The letter V followed by a Victorian Licence number is ...recommended. Cataloguing your tools including serial numbers and image can also help you keep track of your property and provide proof of ownership. If you are suspicious about the selling of cheap online tools, report online at crimestoppersvic.com.au or call 1800 333 000
