25.01.2022 Can you help?? Transit Crime Investigation Unit are seeking public assistance to identify a man after he committed a lewd act on the route 510 bus towards Essendon on Tuesday, 8 September 2020. At approximately 12pm, the man was travelling on the Normanby avenue bus. The man proceeded to perform a lewd act while making eye contact with the victim. Police have released images of a man whom they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries. 22.01.2022 Coffee first thing in the morning: Necessary Leaving your keys in the ignition and having your car stolen while running in to get coffee: Avoidable IT ONLY TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO STEAL A CAR!! ... Detectives have been investigating a recent spate of cars being stolen due to keys being left in the ignition. Drivers are making quick stops, i.e early morning coffee stops, and leaving their cars running. A passenger or driver of a nearby vehicle then jumps into the victims car, and they both drive off. Please take this as a reminder to never leave your car unattended with the key in the ignition, no matter how quick the stop. Opportunistic thefts can be avoided.

16.01.2022 Drug drivers will be off the road faster than ever before as police begin a new road policing trial. Drug drivers who commit their first offence will now be issued with a $495 infringement notice at the time of offending. At present, police have to wait for a toxicology certificate before issuing an infringement. Now, drivers who test positive to two roadside drug tests (a Preliminary Oral Fluid Test and an Oral Fluid Test) will be issued with an infringement notice and hav...e a driving ban imposed. Drivers who are caught with drugs in their system will be immediately banned from driving for up to 24 hours. This new approach will make roads safer by removing drug drivers as quickly as possible.

04.01.2022 Police from Moonee Ponds are attempting the locate the owner of some Apple brand air pods located on Thursday the 16th of September 2020, at Woodland Park in Essendon. We have tried to locate the owner but so far we have not been able to. You will need to have proof of ownership of the air pods and describe the distinctive feature on them.

04.01.2022 WARNING - ATO PHONE SCAMS Flemington Police have received multiple reports of an ATO phone scam. Victims are receiving phone calls from an unknown female caller claiming to be from the ATO. The caller explains to the victim they have an ATO debt, and will transfer them to Flemington Police Station. Another unknown female then speaks to the victim, requesting their personal details including their tax file number. Upon checking phone records, the caller number is displayed ...as coming from the Flemington Police Station. These calls are NOT being made by police or ATO. 03.01.2022 READING FOR A GOOD GREAT CAUSE! A few months ago we came across young Owen on our patrols. Owen told us about his passion for reading and how he was going to raise money for MS during the MS Readathon. With such enthusiasm we agreed to sponsor him.
