22.01.2022 *HEPBURN** On the 9th of December at 4:30PM First Constable Nick SMERDON of Creswick Police observed a silver Ford Falcon travelling at a fast rate of speed on Luttet Street, Creswick. F/C SMERDON intercepted the vehicle and conducted a Preliminary Breath Test on the driver which resulted in a positive reading. The driver refused to accompany police for an Evidentiary Breath Test, the consequence of which is a 2 year loss of license. ... The 63 year old male from Creswick was issued a notice of immediate suspension and has been summoned to appear at Ballarat Magistrate’s Court at a later date. Later the same day at 5:50PM F/C SMERDON observed a black Holden Commodore sedan travelling on Bald Hills Road. Checks confirmed that the driver had not held a license for almost 10 years after it had been disqualified at court. The 48 year old male from Creswick had his vehicle impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $1625 and has been summoned to appear at Ballarat Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
