22.01.2022 ANGLESEA POLICE - DRUG ARRESTS Two men from Torquay have been arrested by Police at Anglesea - following a targeted approach to local Crime. Anglesea Station Manager Sergeant John DIGBY said, "Due to information received from our Community we targeted a vehicle (12.11.2020) at Forest Road Anglesea and located two men - a 20 and 21 year old from Torquay in possession of illicit substances." ... "Both men were arrested/processed for possession with a court date set prior to Christmas - at Geelong." Sergeant DIGBY said, "As we move into warmer weather - I anticipate more targeted patrols . . more arrests." #toughoncrime



21.01.2022 SURF COAST COLAC - OPERATION NEXUS Colac Police members working dayshift conducted over 100 breath tests on drivers making their way through town. It was great to see that they detected ZERO drink/drug driving offences. However, it wasn't good news for the afternoon crew who had just set up a PBT site when the 2nd vehicle that was tested returned a positive breath test. The woman in her 50's returned a result of 0.094 and had her licence immediately suspended for 6 months.

17.01.2022 SURF COAST POLICE - PURSUIT ARREST Police have arrested and charged a 39 year old male from Ocean Grove in relation to failing to stop when required. A Police spokesperson said, "In response to a plethora of information provided via Crime stoppers, Surf Coast Police executed a search warrant this morning, arresting a 39 year year old male wanted for failing to stop when requested." ... The offender has been charged with Dangerous Driving whilst pursued by Police, Failing to stop when requested, Driving in a dangerous manner, exceeding the speed limit, Learner rider riding a non approved Motorcycle, Failing to display L plates, Failing to wear Fluro vest, Cross double lines and possession of a prohibited weapon." "This serves as a timely reminder that when Police indicate for you to pull over - that you stop and comply with the Road Safety Act . . . . The male will appear at the Geelong Magistrates Court on 04.03.2021." #toughoncrime

09.01.2022 Theft of petrol. On 25/11/20 at 5.08 pm an unknown male has attended at Woolworths Caltex at Torquay North. The male has filled up with ULP to the value of $30 and left without paying. Registration plates on the vehicle are from NSW, however this leads to no avenues of inquiry. Identity sought of driver and vehicle. Any information back to Torquay Police or Crime stoppers.
