22.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Darling of Mine Sheila, on alert

22.01.2022 Today Sheila went to a Foundation Skills workshop at Kaden Working Dog Schools. Lots of fun playing games to build skills that we can use in herding and for every day behaviour.

21.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Simnel Sunday Digga, what a gorgeous boy you are!! Digga goes to work every day with his human dad, being an assistant greenskeeper. Such a helpful boy!

21.01.2022 We were finally able to get back to herding this afternoon. It’s been a while, with puppies, summer and COVID, so Mac was definitely out of condition. But it was great to see some improvement through the session under the guidance of Karen from DogLand Australia.

21.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Gowrie Lad Congratulations go to Rory (and his human!) on passing his first level of Obedience. What a good boy he is

20.01.2022 Eylesview Rose Sunday The beautiful Roxy, living the good life in cool, green Tasmania.

19.01.2022 Happy 10th birthday to Girlie!

19.01.2022 Sheila has been very cuddly this weekend. Maybe it’s this!!

19.01.2022 Sheila had a play date this morning with five of her friends - two Border Collies and three German Shepard pups. They had loads of fun! Here’s some thoughts to make play dates safe and enjoyable for everyone: consider a known and controlled environment rather than a dog park - you can control who, and what, is present (including the potential for Parvo, kennel cough, worms, fleas etc)... when meeting new dogs for the first time, approach on lead, slowly, calmly, briefly, not head on, and give lots of praise don’t remove the lead straight away don’t overwhelm the dogs by having too many at the play date matching the size of play mates might be important, especially if they are easily intimidated or are a small breed remember that, just like people, not all dogs will get along just because a dog has never been aggressive before, doesn’t mean they won’t start - all dogs have the potential to act aggressively, either with or without obvious reason be present - physically and mentally - at all times be prepared - dynamics can change and things can go to hell in a hand basket in the blink of an eye most importantly, be involved, have fun and give your dog lots of positive feedback (verbal and physical) See more

19.01.2022 While at the Husanley Working Stock Dogs clinic, Mac got to have a try at cattle. It was fun, but I think we’ll stick to sheep

19.01.2022 No win for Sheila today at the Clifton Show but a great morning nonetheless. She was much better with standing still for the judge, so training is definitely paying off

19.01.2022 It’s a big happy first birthday to the Homegrown Litter - Sheila, Mabel, Rory and Bentley. We hope everyone had a day full of cuddles and smooches. We also keep in our hearts the family of the beautiful Jesse who sadly crossed over the rainbow bridge before he turned one. Happy birthday Jesse - you are missed and loved

18.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Rose Sunday Roxy enjoys a super active life with her human in Hobart. Lots of cycling, walks and beach visits. She’s such a well behaved and chilled out little girl

18.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Rose Sunday Roxy (was Esther) is still cute as a button and reminds me so much of her mum, Tilly. I strongly suspect her human dotes on her quite a bit!

18.01.2022 - Eylesview Darling of Mine Sheila attended the Border Collie Specialty Show today. With Liz Buchanan as her handler she had a great day..... Opposite Junior of Show... 17.01.2022 It's a special day here at Eylesview! Today we celebrate Tilly's 6th birthday and Mac's 4th birthday. How lovely that mother and daughter share the same birthday. There's lots of hugs for these two girls today

17.01.2022 We went to the Proston Show on Saturday. Not even a skilled photographer with good equipment could make us look like a show team this weekend!! Lots of tra-la-la around the ring!! Thanks to Kayla Joy at Paws N Fun for the great effort at trying to capture Sheila’s best side though

16.01.2022 We headed off to the Wondai Show today. We weren’t the best behaved puppy in the ring, but we were definitely the cutest Awarded Baby Puppy of Breed

16.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Lady Lamington Mabel, loving life.

15.01.2022 Show training with Sheila at Nanango Kennel Club tonight. Whether it be for training or socialising, Kennel Clubs are a fantastic resource to tap into

15.01.2022 Merry Christmas from the Eylesview family

15.01.2022 An absolutely fantastic club day at DogLand Australia. It was by far the best day of herding for Mac and I since we started almost two years ago. Progress can be slow but developing new skills and building a working relationship with your dog is such an amazing feeling. Of course we share this success with our trainer, Karen

15.01.2022 The Home Grown Litter now have their own page on our website. 15.01.2022 It was Sheila’s first ever trip to Bunnings this morning. Fair to say she aced it!!

15.01.2022 It's always an exciting moment to get Pedigree Certificates in the mail. I can now confirm the Home Grown Litter is officially known as: Eylesview Darling of Mine - named after Lady Eliza Darling Eylesview Lady Lamington - named after Lady May Lamington Eylesview Howes That - named after Jackie Howe... Eylesview Eyes of Steele - named after Steele Rudd Eylesview Gowrie Lad - named after the Gowrie station/district As this was the Home Grown Litter, all pups were named after someone / something of influence to the Darling Downs region. It's super exciting to finally be able to post these off their new families.

14.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Eyes of Steele I do believe that Bentley is just the apple of his mumma’s eye

14.01.2022 Sheila went for her very first bike ride today! She picked it up pretty quickly with only a couple of near misses!

14.01.2022 Mac, with some nice steady work at the Husanley Working Stock Dogs clinic - not perfect but an improvement on yesterday.

14.01.2022 Another great training session at DogLand Australia. Sheila continues to make progress but today Mac was the - ears switched on, keeping a (mostly) nice distance and allowing a calm and quiet session.

13.01.2022 So proud of Sheila this afternoon. She did such a great job with the sheep considering it was only her third time at DogLand Australia Mac did well too, but it was Sheila’s day to shine!

13.01.2022 Happy first birthday to the Mothering Sunday litter. I’m sure they were all spoilt with kisses and cuddles and treats as far as the eye can see. Big love to them and their humans! Eylesview Rose Sunday (Roxy) Eylesview Simnel Sunday (Digga) Eylesview Pudding Pie Sunday (Louie)

13.01.2022 Today we were back at DogLand Australia for Mac’s first Club Day of the year. What a treat to get out on the sheep again with other like-minded people and pooches.

13.01.2022 ~ Eylesview Gowrie Lad Rory (was Strawb) is growing into a handsome young man.

11.01.2022 This may have been written about Sheila!!

11.01.2022 This morning we did some training on the lead while walking to the vet. We practised: not jumping on everyone who thinks you’re cute and instead sitting for a pat not pulling on the lead and instead walking nicely sitting quietly and waiting to be told to cross the road... She was doing so well until she disgraced herself on the footpath Thank goodness for those poop bags!!! But it was a good reminder that things with puppies never go smoothly and to always be prepared!!

10.01.2022 ~ Eylesview McConnels Heart ~ Eylesview Darling of Mine Mac and Sheila Mother and Daughter... Deargban Border Collies

10.01.2022 Sheila, just waiting for her ride home

09.01.2022 The hot weather is here and clam pools are the favourite thing!! Filling them up is half the fun

09.01.2022 Mac took Sheila for her very first swim this afternoon in the DogLand dam. She also had her second go at herding, penning a little mob of sheep (with some help). This one is definitely like her mother in every way!

09.01.2022 As well as a trip to the Toowoomba Farmers Market, Sheila had her second visit to Bunnings this morning where she got to help me eat my sausage!!

08.01.2022 We all need a little maintenance sometimes, and dogs are no different. Mac has recently started to overhaul her diet to lose weight ahead of what we hope will be a very exciting first half of the year!! This morning she weighed in at the vet and has lost 3.4kg!! Go Mac She has moved from biscuits with some fresh food, to fresh food with some biscuits. Mostly her diet is good quality roo meat, veg, sardines, egg, some fruits and natural yoghurt. And a sprinkling of bikkies on top What is your furry one eating? Does their diet need an overhaul too?
