22.01.2022 It’s a great time to start making Christmas Honey biscuits!

22.01.2022 New seasons Coastal Mallee now available! This darker, fuller flavoured variety comes from the flowers of Coastal Mallee trees, also known as White Mallee, or Eucalyptus Diversifolia which is natively widespread across coastal areas, including Eyre Peninsula.

21.01.2022 It’s back.. new seasons ‘Sugar Gum’ honey! This must try variety is always popular and is sure to make your taste buds sing!! Have it on your cereal, with fruit & yoghurt, on toast or crumpets, in a sandwich or in your tea and even your coffee. This flavour will go with everything! Available from today at Lincoln Fresh Fruit & Veg (Porter Street Plaza) where we even have Sugar Gum Honey available on tap! Purchase a 500g or 1kg jar and once it is empty, clean and dry you can b...ring it back in again and again for the lovely staff to refill for you! Sugar Gum honey will soon be on its way to other stockists around the EP too. Other popular varieties also currently available are ‘Eyre Peninsula Blue Gum’ and ‘Coastal Mallee’. What a beautiful range of colours and flavours we are blessed to have this Summer - which is all thanks to Eyre Peninsula’s amazing, resilient eucalyptus trees and our honey bees that have been foraging on the seasonal flowers of these trees to produce each of these honey varieties with their unique colours and delicious flavours!

20.01.2022 Happy World Bee Day!

19.01.2022 Thanks for including local food in your diet! Being a Locavore strengthens your local economy and community connections and avoids unnecessary food miles

19.01.2022 New seasons ‘Dryland Tea Tree’ now available! This cloudy goodness won’t stay runny for long, which is something that you simply have to embrace if you love this variety as much as we do! The soft crystallisation that develops more quickly in this variety is great for easy spreading on crumpets or scooping a little spoonful to put in your cuppa or in your cooking.... The varying tastes and textures in the honey varieties do not come from anything special that we, or even the bees do when making the honey but from the floral source! The flowers that the bees were collecting their nectar and pollen from to make this honey came mostly from the Dryland Tea Tree, a small native tree that grows well on dry, rocky limestone sites and is relatively common all across the Eyre Peninsula and along the full coastline of South Australia as well as the Eastern and Western states of Australia. And it is not only the European Honey bees that love this hardy little tree! Many native pollinating insects feed on these flowers too, and the birds and other wildlife shelter in these trees and feed on those insects to form part of balanced ecosystems that support healthy living. We hope you have received some of these lovely autumn rains this weekend to help revive this beautiful ‘Dry Land’ we call home!

16.01.2022 So happy to have our honey on tap at this great little shop in Kimba now too! All of our honey is produced on the Eyre Peninsula and we love being able to supply the best of our honey crop to our local communities!

16.01.2022 We are thrilled to have another new stockist of Eyre Honey on tap alongside many other great bulk food products with minimal food miles, low waste and supporting local, family owned producers. Check out The Bulk Food Shack at 45 Marino Avenue, Port Lincoln to stock up your pantry this Christmas!

15.01.2022 When heading out on these cold winter days, we like to make up a brew of black tea and honey to take on the road with us. We got this good quality Thermos locally from House and Kitchen in Porter Street Plaza which is right next door to Lincoln Fresh Fruit & Veg where you can also get your honey refills!

14.01.2022 Make fruit salads extra special this Summer by stirring a spoonful of honey through your chopped berries and stone fruits and letting sit for at least half an hour before serving to allow time for the juices to start to draw out from the fruit and soak in with the honey to make a fresh, fruity syrup in the bottom of the bowl. It’s delicious!

10.01.2022 LOCAL HONEY! Did you know we have local Raw Eyre Honey on tap?? It just runs out the door. Either buy a jar to refill or bring your own. Amazing honey available every day

09.01.2022 Made some lovely bits of oven dried strawberry this time to add to my home made muesli! 1) Cut strawberries into pieces and place in bowl 2) Stir a spoonful of honey through the cut strawberries and let sit for 30mins to draw some of the liquid out... 3) Pour the liquid into a separate dish (save that lovely syrup to have later with ice cream etc.) 4) Place strawberry pieces on a lined baking tray and dry in a very low (80 degree) oven for 2-3 hours until the pieces are dried with a little bit of chewy softness 5) Enjoy with your muesli - I make mine with good quality rolled oats, crushed up weetbix, bran sticks, and shredded coconut which the whole family loves to have anytime of the day served with milk and a drizzle of honey!

09.01.2022 Spring Flora - a new seasons batch that the bees have put together for us from several spring time flowers they have been busy collecting nectar and pollen from This honey variety has a light colour and flavour that is very sweet, so you will only need a small amount to add that bit of sweetness to your favourite foods and drinks

08.01.2022 *New batch we have called ‘Autumn Eucalypts’. Our bees were foraging on some of the best Eyre Peninsula Eucalyptus flowers when they were making this batch of honey, including EP Blue Gum, Sugar Gum, and Peppermint Box Mallee. The EP Blue Gum is extra special to us and it was the inspiration for the flower on our logo. The EP Blue Gum is also commonly called ‘Water Gum’ and is found in hilly areas and along creeks only on the southern and eastern Eyre Peninsula. ... Eyre Peninsula is still looking very dry at this time and we are hoping for some good Autumn rains to start falling soon to give everything a good water!

08.01.2022 **New batch: Winter Eucalypts** This winter our bees have made another lovely, medium all rounder from several Eucalypts that have been flowering over the past few months, including Coastal Mallee that has just started to come in and some Sugar Gum that the bees still had stashed away in their honeycomb from earlier in the year. We always make sure we leave plenty of honey behind for the bees to eat to keep them happy and healthy throughout Winter, and even with the shorter, cooler days, they are still finding plenty of nectar and pollen to have plenty of honey for us all to enjoy all year round!

06.01.2022 Great job Cleve District for working to restore degraded EP Blue Gum areas which will be a great natural asset for future generations supporting functional soils with nutrient, carbon and water cycling, erosion prevention, windbreaks and shade, as well as beautiful honey in 50+ years time!

03.01.2022 **New batch** Mallee & Wildflora - this dark and stronger tasting honey comes from a pristine area of native vegetation near Coffin Bay where several Mallee trees and wildflowers have been blooming this Spring, including this Coastal Beard-heath bush that seems to give this honey a really distinctive flavour (we have had similar batches from this apiary in previous years). Some may find this honey variety a bit strong for their liking, and others will find that it is a favo...urite! At taste testing events it has been interesting to see that this variety is particularly favoured by younger men! We have had people travelling through our region try this variety in previous years and love it so much that they continue to contact us to get special orders sent interstate to them in the post. Enjoy!
