24.01.2022 It was a pleasure to host Jurij Rifelj the Australian Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia today. The Ambassador was in Adelaide with a delegation of European Union Diplomats and took the time to visit my company Eyre to There Aviation at Parafield Airport. The visit was arranged by Honorary Consul Adrian Vatovac in order to view the Pipistrel Alpha Electro manufactured in the Ambassador's home country Slovenia. In order to make it a more memorable occasion I invited the Am...bassador to take a flight in the Alpha Electro which he thoroughly enjoyed, thanks to Catherine Conway - Eyre to There Aviation Advisory Board member for her superb piloting skills. Also in attendance was Les Shearn; Eyre to There’s Advisory Board member covering Defence and Industry. It was a formative meeting in the spirit of continued collaboration between our two countries. 23.01.2022 Over the next few days we will be introducing you to the Eyre to There Aviation Advisory Board - Today we welcome Catherine Conway OAM, ADVISOR - FLIGHT TRAINING AND OPERATIONS Catherine holds a Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences and is a highly accomplished senior communications and systems engineer with more than 30 years’ experience in the defence, telecommunications, civilian and aerospace industries on a range of projects many of which have been pioneering and innovative.... Catherine has delivered papers detailing her projects at conferences in the USA, Europe and Asia. As co-founder of Agile Communications (Internode) Catherine is highly experienced in new technology start-ups. With nearly 4000 flight hours experience across a range of aircraft and current Chief Flying Instructor for the University of Adelaide Gliding Club, Catherine is also owner of AV8 Flight Training Pty Ltd and is factory trained in the Pipistrel Alpha Electro power, maintenance and management systems. 21.01.2022 Eyre to There Aviation are pleased to announce they have partnered with AV8 Flight Training in Adelaide South Australia to facilitate flight training in the Pipistrel Alpha Electro. The Alpha will complement AV8’s existing aircraft fleet and the company will also provide training in the Alpha Electro to prospective Eyre to There Aviation flight school clients interested in leasing or purchasing aircraft. The partnership represents another milestone in providing a valuable l...earning experience for students; or those curious about Electric Aircraft technology, Flight Training and Maintenance. AV8 Managing Director Catherine Conway OAM said exclusive access to the Pipistrel Alpha Electro for training, demonstration or experiential flight is an exciting addition to the business which currently offers training in powered aircraft and gliders. AV8 also offer STEM/Aviation based experiences to schools and other youth groups where a flight is part of a broader experience of the Aviation and Aerospace industry. Eyre to There Aviation’s Barrie Rogers said the partnership will be unique in a number of ways as students have the opportunity to gain experience in a cross section of aircraft types. 12.01.2022 Keep an eye out this Sunday for our Alpha Electro (you won't hear us!!) flying from Parafield to Aldinga Aerodrome as we join a number of aircraft in flight to commemorate 100 years since the conclusion of the England to Australia Air Race by the Smith Brothers in the Vickers Vimy. With the inclusion of the electric plane this will be a true reflection on how far aviation has come in 100 years. It's a real thrill to be invited to participate in one of the final legs of the jo...urney. Although the Vimy and crew were in Australia for nearly 4 months after arriving in Darwin the plane made it's final destination to Adelaide on the 22nd March 1919 The flight of the Vickers Vimy from Britain to Australia remains one of the greatest aeronautical achievements of all time. Australians Ross and Keith Smith, Jim Bennett and Wally Shiers took off from Hounslow Airfield on 12 November 1919 and 28 days later landed in Darwin, after an amazing flight. They won the air race sponsored by the Australian government for this flight.

02.01.2022 In a significant milestone for South Australian and perhaps global aviation EYRE to THERE flew the Pipistrel Alpha Electro a record total of 80 nautical miles cross country on Sunday 22nd March from Parafield Airport to Aldinga Aerodrome and return following a recharge in Aldinga. The event was to mark the Epic Flight Centenary’s final leg from England to Australia in 1919. It proves that Electric flight although in its infancy is not only viable but continues to forge a role... in General Aviation. With careful flight planning, fantastic support from Adelaide Air Traffic Control and the skills of pilot extraordinaire Catherine Conway we made this happen!! As we progress our business; the next logical step will be to encourage and assist Regional Airports to install aircraft charging stations, this initiative would pave the way for viable and inexpensive cross country flying for private pilots and flight training students. What’s next I’m thinking 375 Nm Adelaide to Melbourne in May!! Watch this space See more
