09.01.2022 Donors can make a tax-deductible contribution to the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation, which will lock in matched funding for Back-To-School vouchers for 2021. All of the vouchers will be distributed to schools across the #EyrePeninsula. Donors can request that their donation support a selected school or district on the Eyre Peninsula. The matched funding enables two $50 vouchers for every $50 contributed. Chairman Garry Downey said, "This is an amazing opportunity for loc...al donors to secure extraordinary value through their tax-deductible contribution, supporting children in need on their education pathway. This highly leveraged funding will go direct to Eyre Peninsula schools - no commissions, overheads or administrative costs. Every dollar will provide critical help and encouragement to school children who need it". "Every year, there is more need for vouchers than we can fulfill, so this matched funding opportunity is a chance to see your support truly making a difference to our region's future". The Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation has been delivering Back to School Vouchers in the region since 2009, supporting children and families in the early education phase. The vouchers are used for notebooks, pens and pencils, uniforms, shoes, underwear, bathers, lunch boxes and school bags, enabling these children to be prepared for learning alongside their peers. Such donations will become part of the Foundation’s corpus in perpetuity, so that earnings on the corpus can be distributed year after year as grants to community groups on #EyrePeninsula. If you’re a grain grower and are considering putting a small quantity of grain at the ...end of harvest to a good cause, then the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation may be just the right choice to make. 02.01.2022 Back to School Vouchers 2021 In March, the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation (The Foundation) distributed $24,400 in Back to School Vouchers to students across the Eyre Peninsula (EP). With additional donations received of $2,200 to the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation and its funding partner, the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), the original $20,000 funding was increased to $24,400. A Port Lincoln donor stated "We appreciate the work that the EP Community... Foundation does, making a small difference for many people and places. The Foundation's initiative to source matched funding for Back to School Vouchers is a real opportunity for all of us to make a huge difference for those children in Port Lincoln who need and deserve a positive start to their learning experience". Since inception in 2009, in partnership with the FRRR, the Foundation has now distributed over $240,000 in Back to School Vouchers in the form of a $50 Target (shopping) Cards to assist families on EP purchase school items such as uniforms, school bags and stationery for their children starting the new school year. Foundation Chairperson, Garry Downey noted the 2021 program highlighted a much greater need for help with basic school equipment than the support the Foundation program currently provides, however local communities can support their school families by donating specifically to the Back to School Vouchers program, with any funds being matched to double their impact locally above the normal distribution. The Foundation also encourages public donations for this purpose. Mr. Downey also acknowledged the support of School Principals and Governing Councils with the success of the Back to School Program. The Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation carefully manages a growing base of donated funds and works with philanthropic and other partners to ensure the best possible value and impact from each of its community projects, regional student advancement and home hospice services on Eyre Peninsula.
