20.01.2022 Hello everyone, Eyre Peninsula Tribune sales representative, Kathrine Norris, here! As you may have known, I have been waiting to hear about the future of the Eyre Peninsula Tribune and West Coast Sentinel following the expected end of our stand down on September 25th.... Unfortunately, due the current climate of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Australian Community Media, the company that owns the papers, has informed us that they have decided to continue the stand down of the Eyre Peninsula Tribune and West Coast Sentinel until early 2021 at this stage. The company has told us that this temporary, and may be brought forward if the situation changes. As for the staff, I will remain on stand down until such time as the papers come back. Tribune journalist Lauren Fitzgerald remains on maternity leave with her beautiful baby boy until June, and its unlikely that a replacement will be hired, and Sentinel journalist Luca Cetta will continue to work part time putting together local stories for the Sentinel and Tribune websites as well as assisting with the Port Lincoln Times. If you have any stories that you you would like to be published on our websites, please email him on [email protected]. Similarly, advertising is still available on our websites and if you are interested, please contact Stacey Lawrie at [email protected]. We are all disappointed that we could not bring you better news at this time regarding our beloved papers. We will continue to advocate for the important role that local newspapers play in our communities. Any updates regarding our papers will be sent through to you as soon as we hear them. We thank you for your understanding.

20.01.2022 From midnight tonight, South Australians will pause and create a 6 day circuit breaker that will enable us to get ahead of the Parafield Cluster. This means al...l non-essential workers must stay home and only leave for groceries and medical supplies. Our decision to go hard and go early is based on the advice of our world class health team. I know the restrictions we have put in place will be challenging for many South Australians, but the alternative is the virus escapes into the wider community forcing an even longer lockdown. I urge people to be kind and respectful to one another during this time. Click through the images to see what's open and what's closed. Thank you for working together with us - we WILL get through this.

13.01.2022 Tonight's the night! Join us for the announcement of this year's SA Australian of the Year Awards recipients. Here are the details:

12.01.2022 At this time in South Australia it is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended to wear a mask when out in public and you can’t physically distance (1.5m fr...om others). Please note: children under 12 years of age do not need to wear a mask, as they may not be able to handle it safely. The term ‘face mask or mask’ includes reusable cloth masks, and single-use face masks (commonly called surgical masks). At this time, ‘fitted’ face coverings, such as bandanas, scarves, or neck gaiters can be used if you are unable to find a cloth mask, or single-use surgical face mask. Face masks that have unfiltered one-way valves should not be used. Important things to remember about wearing masks: 1 Once your mask is on, it is important that you don’t touch or adjust the front of it while wearing it it’s the part that’s protecting you from COVID-19. If you do touch it by accident, wash or sanitise your hands right away. 2 Before putting your mask on and after taking it off, remember to thoroughly wash and dry (or sanitise) your hands.
