Butcher Steels & Honing Rods - Varying from polished to medium cut, Dexter Russell butcher steels are the perfect tools to hone and maintenance the edges of your knives. Honing is the process of realigning the teeth (the microscopic metal fibers) which keeps the blade sharp. When done on a regular basis your knives will feel new every time you use them. A sharp knife is safer than a dull knife. The more dull your knife is the more force you have to use increasing the chance for the knife to slip and cut you.
