15.01.2022 Good morning and great to be alive! Sharing a personal story. One that woke my up just after 2am this morning. I woke up in the small hours to my smoke alarm going off in the study. There is a fireplace in there. The fire in the fireplace was out. I opened the window as it smelled unusually bad. I couldnt see a fire tjough. After about 15 or 20 mins i finally saw it. Small puffs of smoke coming out between the brick mantle and the concrete of the base of the fireplace. I called the fireys and they finally uncovered the piece of wood smouldering inside the floor. A house is 30% more likely to burn down from a smouldering fire. I had installed a smoke alarm in both rooms that have a fireplace. Smoke alarms save lives! Call us to have yours checked or installed! 1300 43 9997

07.01.2022 Certificates of Electrical Safety.... do we need to supply one of these all the time or only "Major works"? The legislation requires a Certificate of Electrical Safety (COES) to be issued for ALL electrical installation work. 04.01.2022 HOW TO CHECK YOUR SMOKE ALARMS Check that the smoke alarm has not passed the expiry -Smoke alarms have a 10 year expiry date and should be discarded after this time. ... - If there is no expiry date, it is expired as legislation to print an expiry date came into effect more than 15 years ago. To change battery and check smoke alarm -Take out your old battery, install your new battery and then press the test button for 10 seconds. If your alarm sounds and it is quite loud then it's working. -If the alarm does not sound or it is quite soft, your alarm is not working and should be replaced. Smoke alarms should be located -Within 3m of all bedrooms and not closer than 30cm to walls. -In a double storey house you should have a smoke alarm at the bottom of the stairs. If you have any questions at all in relation to your smoke alarms please comment below and we can help you. #EzzyRElectrics #SmokeAlarms #Winter #SafeHome #HappyHome #SmokeAlarmsSaveLives
