21.01.2022 Who else is excited for the doors to reopen?! On top of the excitement, there may be some nerves and fear around returning to exercise/general life. We have provided some tips on how to prepare yourself for some of the most common hurdles to overcome when returning to training... PHYSICAL ABILITY ... It is very likely that you have lost strength and overall fitness during lockdown. Lucky for you, muscle memory exists! It is only a matter of time and consistency before you get your gains back. You will be sore in that first week. Very. Sore. However, you can soften the blow now by getting your body moving. Start walking daily, stretching and eating high protein and nutrient filled foods. PREPARATION We all know the saying, by failing to prepare we prepare to fail. Book your classes online, treat yourself to a new gym outfit, start setting the alarm earlier... all these little steps will make that first day back that much easier. THE LITTLE VOICE INSIDE YOUR HEAD Potentially the hardest obstacle to overcome is the little voice in your head saying you can't. Take the time to reflect on your goals and what you want to achieve, reach out to a gym buddy for accountability and let the trainers know if you need a bit of extra support. However you are feeling just know YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Take is one day at a time and before you know it you will be hitting PB's again. 15.01.2022 It's official, we reopen our doors tomorrow We are over the moon and so grateful for your support these last few months. We are truely proud to be a part of the Melbourne community and look forward to what's to come. We will be following strict Victorian COVID regulations and ensuring our members and trainers remain safe in the studio. Please take the time to read through the below before coming to class next week.... 1. FACE MASKS: As per the DHHS, face masks do not have to be worn when taking part in exercise that causes you to become out of breathe. For this reason, members can remove their face masks when participating in the classes that cause them to become out of breathe or puffing. Members must wear their mask at all times when not participating in the class and can only remove their mask when they are at their station. Masks are not required if you have a special consideration. 2. Class sizes will be capped. You must sign in through the F45 or Mindbody app before class to secure a spot. 3. Showers cannot be used 4. Use the sanitise stations when entering and leaving, and throughout your stay at the studio 5. Equipment will be sanitised throughout the session and before each class commences 6. No towel, no train 7. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL WELL, STAY HOME Thank you for your co-operation and understanding. 05.01.2022 A new week calls for a new recipe @laurafordnutrition has treated us with one of her own creations, something that will make for a tasty lunch or dinner. VIETNAMESE BÚN NOODLE (rice noodle) SALAD WITH MEATBALLS... In the salad Laura has included fresh mint, meatballs, pickled carrots, noodles, cucumber, chilli and peanuts for extra crunch. Meatball Ingredients: 500g turkey mince 4 tbsp chopped lemongrass 1/2 red onion, finely chopped 1 small carrot, grated 1/2 zucchini, grated 2 tsp ginger, grated 2 tbsp coriander, chopped 1.5 tbsp soy sauce 1 tsp sugar or natural sweetener Black pepper Method: Mix all the meatball ingredients in a bowl until well combined Fry the meatballs in a pan for 5-10 minutes until brown and cooked through Toss together with your salad ingredients for a flavoursome, fresh meal Be sure to give this one a try team, and remember to tag @laurafordnutrition and @f45_training_footscray See more
