22.01.2022 ~GOOEY CHOCOLATE PROTEIN BROWNIE~ For all you late-night snackers out there Just a sneak peek at one of the delicious (and healthy!) recipes you can access when doing the F45 Challenge. Has anyone currently doing the challenge tried this one yet? If so, let us know how it turned out in the comments!... ~ 20 minutes ~ 5 servings ~ 155 calories ~ ~INGREDIENTS~ 40g chocolate protein powder 40g gluten-free self-raising flour 30g coconut sugar 20g cacao powder 180ml canned coconut milk (light) 20ml extra virgin coconut oil, melted 1/3 tsp stevia 30ml water ~INSTRUCTIONS~ 1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees and line a brownie tray with baking paper 2. In a large bowl combine the chocolate protein powder, self-raising flour, coconut sugar, cacao powder and stevia 3. Add the coconut milk, water and coconut oil into the dry ingredients and combine well 4. Pour the batter into the baking tray. Bake the brownie in the oven for 10 minutes 5. Once cooked remove the brownie from the oven and allow to cool. Slice the brownie into 5 slices 6. Serve 1 brownie slice and refrigerate the remaining slices to be consumed over the week Enjoy!!!

Heres a couple tips to make sure we get the most out of the movement: Plank position (shoulders over hands) Belly button to spine (ENGAGE CORE!!) Squeeze core as knees come to chest Straighten legs & drop chest to floor Keep elbows close to body in push-up Drop hips to floor/overarch back Put band on ankles (put it on mid-foot) Were excited to see everyone give this a red hot go tomorrow REMEMBER its soooo important to engage your core correctly the WHOLE way through the exercise (watch last weeks Form Friday video for more info on this). 20.01.2022 FOCUS STATION: Clap Pushups Hey team! This is a tough station in todays Varsity workout, but definitely give it a try (if youve got the hang of normal pushups). This exercise targets fast-twitch muscle fibres which will build explosiveness in your upper body Make sure you warm up your shoulders and wrists first to prevent injury! ... HOW TO DO THEM Start same as regular pushups (shoulders over hands, on toes, core engaged) Slowly lower to ground, keeping elbows close to body and back/core tight Push up as fast as you can (first the heel of hand, then your fingers - dont use your hips for momentum, instead use your upper body....keep body straight!) 16.01.2022 A little bit of info on our in studio Evolt 360 Body Scan from the guys at @evolt360 The weight you see on the scales is such a small part of the bigger picture. You dont see what is happening internally and your own body composition in terms of your muscle mass, the fat you can see on the outside (subcutaneous) but also visceral fat which relates to our health. A weight on the scale really means very little in terms of what your body is actually made up ...of. It can fluctuate from day to day which can affect us mentally thinking we are not progressing when we really arent seeing the full picture. . 13.01.2022 If youve ever wanted to try Playoffs, well this is the next best thing! 3-Peat is an awesome test of fitness and endurance! There is a rep target for each station- if you hit the required reps you get a point. There are 10 killer stations per lap, times that by 3 and you have 30 gruelling stations and an opportunity to hit the max 30 points! 11.01.2022 Are you feeling like youve hit a plateau and as though you are not increasing strength? When was the last time you tried to lift that bit heavier? . How do I get stronger? PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD. Basically this means making small increases over a period of time in either the weight being lifted or volume (number of reps with x amount of weight). Our muscles adapt very quickly so we need to be constantly making increases and challenging ourselves in order to see strength gains.... If you were to even increase your weight by 1kg each week, youd be surprised at how quickly your body will become stronger. If you dont feel you are ready to increase the amount of weight just yet, try adding an extra rep or 2 to your set than you would normally. You should be struggling to get those last reps up- and finally you will start to push through those plateaus! .
