Combine your floor exercises with a strong mindset to remember that lying down does not equal a rest station! Ensure you are always supporting your back and engaging your core, even when on the ground, your neck is in correct alignment, if your feet are on the floor that theyre grounded firmly and that were working with as much tempo and range as p...ossible to make the most of it. Most sessions youll be paired with a workout buddy, someone on your team or in your pod to sweat it out with. Not just a stranger but someone to work with to ensure you are both working at your optimum. As well as your trainers, who or what else keeps you accountable? Is it signing up to our sessions on the app in advance? Is it tagging on insta or letting family know by writing your classes on the calendar? Lets stay accountable for ourselves and eachother. 24.01.2022 We spoke about strength, now let's talk about another important aspect and often overlooked component of training - STRETCHING. Vital to help build muscle by ensuring your body is limber and flexible enough to lift and support heavy weights. Stretching comes into play for cardio too, making sure you can bounce around the room without risking injury. It is important to stretch pre and post classes so try this 10 stretch sequence, held for 45 seconds each, to get your full body stretch. Here are some fun tips to combat the midweek or midday slump: Get moving! It may feel like the last thing you want to do but getting the blood flowing will pump up your energy levels. What better way than a cardio Wednesday at F45! ... Avoid caffeine. What?! Yup. You may catch a small boost but the crash to come will be inevitably worse. It could also create a habit of caffeine dependancy. Power down your devices! Try avoid screen time or scrolling and instead take a look out the window. Being around natural light can increase your energy levels. Adjust your posture. Sitting upright can automatically initiate a better flow in your body and surge in mental and physical state. Try it now! Stretch that spine. Breathe and meditate. Moving doesn't always have to be fast paced. Sometimes it's your mind that needs the exercising. Well with the Push Up Challenge coming up (starts on Monday!) heres some little nuggets of information for you! Naturally with it being a bodyweight exercise, the more you weigh, the more youll be pushing. So if you feel like your bench press is getting stronger, but your push ups are still struggling, have a look at the load youre actually benching and that could... be a good starting point! That being said, there are of a course soooo many things that influence the variables, but its also some really cool stats to help you think more about your progression. 04.01.2022 Building lean muscle mass is a universal goal but it can be complicated to understand what it takes so were going to simplify it into some easy steps to help you stay on track: Focus on compound lifts, the big ones that use a ton of muscles like deadlifts, front squats, pull ups and overhead press. Keep variety in your rep count: for some exercises and on some days load up heavy and reduce the rep count, for others go lighter and keep the count high. Your trainer can h...elp advise you Increase your training frequency. Hit up those classes and schedule yourself in! Focus on recovery. Perhaps counter intuitive to the above, but make sure you are giving your body a chance to recover and rebuild and your mind a chance to refocus. Get plenty of protein (but dont avoid carbs!) Protein is the building block of the muscle so add supplementary protein if necessary to hit your quota. Attitude is everything. Stay positive, persistant and powerful. You got this. Keep going guys! Poor posture can lead to difficulties in health, communication, muscle imbalance, pain and affect your training, but can also be corrected during classes and at home with awareness, specific exercises and diligence. Good posture looks like a straight line from your ear to your shoulder to your hip, balanced and upright. During training its important to ensure that you ar...e hyper aware of alignement during exercises that tilt you outside of an upright position. Activating muscles such as your core, pulling your shoulders away from your ears and squeezing your glutes to support your back can help strengthen the muscles that keep us in good form daily, as well as warming up, cooling down and stretching before and after class.
