24.01.2022 Join us for our traditional Saturday night celebration at the conference. While lately weve gone upmarket at the Melbourne Arts Centre, sailed Sydney Harbour, partied at the Hobart Casino and gone country in Brisbane, this conference we are returning to the way we were. In the past our galas were always held at the conference venue. As this is the last conference in this cycle, we return to the way we were: a semi formal dinner, dancing and as always, a few surprises, along ...with great company and old and new friends. And so this is our theme for our evening: The South Node and the Way we Were Dress code is to come as your South Node; were inviting everyone to be creative and imaginative it might be a past life, a lingering dream, a sleeping dragon, a has been or a wanna be whatever, the intention is fun and festivity. Join us for this carnival of connection and celebration. Conference Celebration including dinner, dancing and drinks is $ 65 for conference registrants; $85 for guests or those not registered for the conference. Register Now ! https://www.faainc.org.au/faa-conference-2020/register/
23.01.2022 During this penumbral lunar eclipse, the Earth's main shadow does not cover the Moon. As the Earth's shadow (umbra) misses the Moon during a penumbral lunar eclipse, there are no other locations on Earth where the Moon appears partially or totally eclipsed during this event. A penumbral lunar eclipse can be a bit hard to see as the shadowed part is only a little bit fainter than the rest of the Moon.

20.01.2022 In less than a fortnight we will launch our 23rd FAA Conference. Each of our past 22 conferences has been inspiring and memorable with a remarkable gathering of astrologers sharing and exchanging their understanding in and passion for the craft of astrology. We look forward to this being another outstanding experience. This year our conference is overshadowed by the ongoing bushfires, an unprecedented tragedy which envelops our country. All of us are heartbroken by this deva...station and loss. So many of us know of families who have experienced the trauma of being in the path of the firestorm. Vast numbers have been evacuated. Lives, livelihoods, and livestock have been lost. Neighbourhoods have been lost. Our precious bush and beloved wildlife are being decimated. Our nation is in mourning. As astrologers here in Australia we are living under the umbra of heavens time, experiencing firsthand the power of Nature beyond our control. As astrologers worldwide, in accord with Heaven and Nature, we acknowledge these times of emergent cycles and do our best to contribute to our communities with this knowledge of the need for authentic, sustainable and profound change. While the need for change is obvious, astrological patterns reveal that we are participating with something larger than ourselves. We will gather together in Melbourne to share, discuss and participate with our astrological community, which respects and acknowledges these greater forces of Heaven and Nature that call us to find our strength and shelter in an unsafe world. As conference convenors we will do our very best to create a sheltering environment and a place out of time. Brian Clark & Glennys Lawton

14.01.2022 Our sincerest thank you to all our delegates, presenters and volunteers who have been in touch and sent their heartfelt wishes as we plan our upcoming conference amidst this heart-wrenching moment in time. We witness the devastating loss and many of our members and delegates have been impacted by this season of fire; no one is immune, as we are all united together in our grief. We hold you in our thoughts at this time. It is times like these that bind communities together thr...ough our humanness, our vulnerabilities and our strengths. Our astrological community is gathering and we will find solace and comfort in our time together. Underpinning our conference time will be layers of feelings and gathering as a community will help us hold, express and share these layers. As astrologers our instinct is to look through the moment to a wider sky. Even though in this moment it is dark with ash, we often find a meaning, a memory, a mantra that helps us to feel safe, part of something larger. At this difficult juncture we look forward to seeing you next week Brian & Glennys

10.01.2022 Summer solstice After the September equinox, the tilt of Earth's axis increasingly angles our south pole towards the Sun, so the Sun appears further south in the sky each day until it's over the Tropic of Capricorn around 22 December. This is the southern hemisphere's summer solstice.
