25.01.2022 Yesterday was only our second day onboard but it was our third cocktail party. A welcome reception in the Club. And it's an even busier agenda today. We started the day with an exclusive galley tour with our wonderful Executive Chef Ross. ... At 4pm it's high tea in the observation lounge. 6om it is time for more cocktails in the Uber chic Thomas Kellar piano bar which is a prelude to the Captain's formal reception and black tie dinner. Followed by my favourite show at sea. An evening with Tim Rice and the Encore cast and band. This cruising life is a exhausting but soooooo much fun.

25.01.2022 I've never been a fan of Norwegian. Especially the hiddious brightly painted decals that look like they were painted by a poor man's Ken Dunn. I've generally only heard bad reports about their ship and product that is based in Hawaii. But that I've heard is a regional distortion. This new ship has me reconsidering their product. It's actually stunning and the and offers an amazing degree of choice in resturants and other activities. All be it additional charges for most. ... Let's hope these new age NCL ships eventually come down to Australia and not their inferior older ships. From Discover on Google https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwnQ4Y74YkY

24.01.2022 As fans of this page will know our initial business model was built on discounts for airline employees and that is actually where our name FAB Flight Attendant Business came from. But we know that there has been equal - if not greater - demand for heavily discounted cruises for non flyers. Hence we have started a new business to actively seek out similar huge retail discounts.... We have a new website about to launch soon but we have a new Facebook group called LAST MINUTE CRUISES - UNSOLD CABIN DISCOUNTS which is already live. A key feature is our innovative deal of the day. If you love what we do here .... if you love big discounts on cruises across the world ...... please share the love and repost and invite all of your mates. https://www.facebook.com/groups/lastminutecruises/

23.01.2022 WOW - just announced - the Silversea World Cruise for 2023. Thinking seriously of putting my hand up to host on this one. That doesn't mean I will get the assignment, but you can but dream. You have to be in it to win it ... and that motto for life has served me well over the years.... https://youtu.be/swMkuhao49A

23.01.2022 NEW! Shore excursions offered by cruise lines are often way too expensive. Use these links to save significant money in your own currency. I'm currently cruising the barrier reef in Queensland. Excursions to the reef were priced about $350 USD or $500 AUD .... When local operators charge approximately $250 AUD. That's a massive 100% markup. Booking your own tours will always be a much cheaper option, but many people worry that they will miss the ship and be stuck in port....Continue reading

22.01.2022 New FAB offices. Things have been a tad quiet in this space lately. But things are picking up. We have made over 100 new bookings on high end ships over the last little while. ... Confidence is returning. Cruising may still be aways away. But people are now prepared to put down cold hard cash in bookings for later this year and especially 2022. We have recently moved into new offices in Collins Street. Any time you'd like to pop in to talk about your next cruise over a glass a wine while enjoying one of the best views in Melbourne awaits.

21.01.2022 FAB Travel is seeking tour guides to create and run their own land-based business, along with guest lecturers for placements on cruise ships ex Australia. In association with the Australian Institute of Tour Guides, we are setting up a new 2-day course that will train people up as tour guides and enable them to immediately start their own tour guide business. We will be promoting tours to cruise ship passengers that achieve an exceptionally high level of guest reviews. We are... also looking for passionate people who are experts in particular fields of interest to overseas travellers. These will form a roster of talent in our new speaker's bureau for high-end cruise ships in Australian and New Zealand waters. This is perhaps the best gig on any ship with free flights and accommodation to and from the ship, free accommodation, meals, drinks and full onboard guest privileges. All for a total time commitment of generally 1-2 one hour lectures on each voyage. These can cruise typically range from 2-5 nights but can go as high as 21 days for compelling speakers. So if you or someone you know would make a perfect tour guide or guest lecturer we want to hear from you. Please add YES in the comments below or throw me your questions. Anyone who can be an engaging and authentic lecturer in subjects such as history or contemporary Australia domestic life, culture or animals can 'almost' be guaranteed immediate placement.

21.01.2022 The very best part of this gig is getting emails like this one .... These extended repositioning cruises are some of the best value ones offered. They head north in April and May and return south in Oct/Nov. I can highly recommend the ones that transit the Suez canal and Jordan. I'm off on Seabourn Encore on Wednesday on another hosted cruise - this time 49 in the group. Can't wait to get back onboard. ... +++ Morning James.....we've been home for a week after our absolutely amazing Seabourn cruise from Athens to Dubai..... what a trip it was....just outstanding on all levels.....I must say, the staff were incredible.....we were even emotional when we had to say goodbye I think you're joining the Encore from Singapore to Bali? If so, if you meet Stephen (one of the Seabourn singers), Dwayne and James at the pool bar, pls say hello from us I'm off to Bali tomorrow, but will be leaving on the 30th so unfortunately won't be there when Seabourn arrives....have the best time... I'll look fwd to photos....in the meantime here are a few pics from our trip.....and thanks again for your help in the planning!!!

14.01.2022 What a fabulous way to kick off our first ever FAB branded hosted cruise than a welcome reception at the spectacular Baywatch@Jen. Almost no one in our group of almost 50 have sailed with Seabourn before and I can't wait to see their faces when we board today at noon. Your first Seabourn cruise is always such a special occasion - one filled with excitement and wide eyed wonder - not unlike those very fortunate kids who won a golden ticket to Willy Wonker's chocolate factory... when they first walk in the door. As I like to say Seabourn is like a Disneyland for adults that like refined and stylish and things. Check back here for daily updates of our voyage as it unfolds.

13.01.2022 More great feedback from happy campers. Especially satisfying to get such a positive reaction to our first FAB hosted cruise. +++ Hi James... Thank you once again for a Fabulous cruise. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Also thank you for you wonderful organisation and help. Will be definitely booking another cruise through you as soon as possible. Regards Michelle +++ Hi Debbie, I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know that the Rhine River cruise was absolutely fantastic and we enjoyed it so much! That was our second with AMA and it surpassed even the first trip. The crew totally made it and spoiled us to no end. Anyway, in case anyone asks you for feedback there it is! Look forward to making another reservation for another upcoming voyage in the future. Thanks again for all your help. Kind regards, Adrian & Keiko +++ Cruise was FABulous! Omg....you have not oversold Seabourn! What an indulgence! Love, love............ loved it! Perfect amount of ‘group’ contact opportunities and alone time. Felt like an extended crew slip.....join group or retreat at any time without discomfort or judgement :-). Meet and greet drinks in Singapore night prior to sailing was a really nice touch. Nic +++ Just wanted to say thank you so much for arranging and hosting. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the ship the cruise and your guests. Such lovely people and the way you organised things onboard was just wonderful for those that wanted to opt in or out. I have never had a more relaxing holiday . Lovely to finally meet you and will recommend your business to anyone without hesitation. Fondest Steven +++ Thanks James for the great photos. We had a wonderful time. It was so much fun to be part of a group of such fun and interesting people. Your organising of get togethers and shore group excursions was fabulous. Everything was fun and wonderful. I will certainly take another one of these cruises. Jill +++ Dear James, I feel very privileged and honoured to be able to join the group on this most enjoyable and exceptional cruise. I certainly had some unexpected dreams come true experiences. Absolutely loved the Shore Excursions and becoming familiar with the Indonesian people and their culture. The lovely people we met on Seabourn were all so very warm hearted, open and friendly, I will always remember them. Thank you so much for all your efforts to make this such a pleasurable time. Best Regards to you and Jack. Yours sincerely Lois Jones

13.01.2022 As many of you know my team and I are all professional cruise hosts as a part of the Distinctive Voyages program. We get loads of enquiries about what that means, what value does it add? This little video sums it all up in a neat little nutshell. ... Distinctive voyages are offered on a select number of cruises on the top 6 or so cruise lines in the world and these privileges, these benefits are provided free of any charge. At FAB we have taken the concept further and created our own brand of hosted cruises for our own clients based on a similar template - except in many cases we can provide these additional amenities to people booking heavily discounted or interline fares. No other agency in the world does this. It is the FAB Travel difference. Question? What do the best six star cruise lines in the world - Silversea, Seabourn, Regent Seven Seas, Crystal and Azamara - have in common? Answer: FAB TRAVEL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq23IL6T5Qc&feature=youtu.be

13.01.2022 Website rebuild. Feedback wanted please. I've been listening to feedback that you wanted an easier to use search engine to make it a simplier to find a perfect cruise. We now have searchable maps! No oneone else does. ... It's all built around specific months - to better tie in with your allocated leave. All months are now LIVE but only Dec and Jan have full data sets. They are ones I needed tested. If you get a moment I'd appreciate some feedback how how it works and looks. Especially what doesn't format correctly. Please send screen captures. Note by clicking the top of each column you can search by region, date, star rating, and even the size of the discount offered. If there are other functions you want please let me know. If the map is hard to handle on mobile devices scroll down and just sort by clicking the top of each column.

12.01.2022 The Seabourn difference. My favourite bathrooms on the high seas. Full bath and seperate shower.

10.01.2022 FAB Travel is expanding into NZ, Europe and the Middle East. These expansion plans and joint ventures with new operators will be announced this weekend. Along with a raft of incredible deals and hosted cruise options for 2021/2022. Trust me you won't believe the broad range of options at amazing price points that we have negotiated for you. So look out for our email this Saturday, spaces are strictly limited and we expect many to sell out within days.... As part of our growth, I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Sheryl Salmon has been promoted to a senior agent, alongside Debbie Smith. Both are truly exceptional in everything they do for our clients and are often times working on inquires at 6am in the morning or long after midnight in order to speak to the cruise lines direct, who are all USA based. Thank you so much, Sheryl and Deb, for all you do, big and small. It is a delight to work with you both and I am so lucky to have you as the backbone of our plans for forthcoming growth. Pack your bags, we're going cruising! Don't miss the boat.

09.01.2022 Caviar in the surf and free flow french. A signature event offered on all cruises.

09.01.2022 We so love opening our mailbox and hearing stories of the adventures our clients have had on the high seas. The feedback is so very helpful and enables us to further refine our selection process for people trying to find the right cruise for them. For those who have used our services we'd really appreciate if you could spare a minute or two to write a quick review of your cruise or what we do here using the official Facebook review tab....Continue reading

08.01.2022 Another Distinctive Voyage sets sail.

08.01.2022 For those following along at home. This is the first day of our voyage and it's a sea day. Sheer bliss. I've attached a program of events for those who might be interested in a typical day on Seabourn. It's a big program with the Seabourn signature Caviar in the surf - crossing the equator which is a century old tradition and then we have Thanksgiving tonight. ... +++ Good morning and welcome to our first sea day. I hope you all had a great sleep and have woken refreshed and invigorated. Thank you to all who came last night. Nothing better than a sea day to relax and unwind completely - with absolutely no commitments what so ever. No TV. No politics. No cares of the world. Just glorious blue sea and sky. I've scheduled another cocktail party with the food and beverage manager at 6pm tonight in the club. All welcome. Feel free to bring your new friends and randoms you might have met. There are a few hidden places to explore such as the whirl pool at the bow and I especially love the aft pool on deck 5. It's like your own private super yacht. A few highlights. DON'T miss caviar in the surf at 1115. Crossing the equator at 230. And it's Thanksgiving today. Which is being celebrated in the Collonade tonight. Show tonight's show is a guest performer 845 and 10 PM If you don't think you can stay up that late I highly recommend the espresso martinis.

06.01.2022 Help needed. Does anyone know anyone who works at FedEx in Australia. A little known fact is that FedEx employees with a FedEx ID qualify for much the same as... airline employees. So I'm actively looking for someone from FedEx to join my FAB travel team. Preference will be given to someone who is super positive and can be effective in helping me promote these deals. Experience in cruising would be great but not essential.

05.01.2022 We've always spent more than we should on holidays. Sometime significantly so. And you know what? ..... we've never, ever regretted doing that. It's helped us refocus, re evaluate and build a simplier less materialistic life. We used to have dozens and dozens of differant red and white wine glasses. Desert and cocktail glasses, Not to mention a few dozen more kitchen glasses. Coffee cups, yep dozens of them two. As was the case with crockery and China sets. We every day ones..., then good better and best sets. Each year we'd spend many thousands on homewares, platters, throw pillows, luxirious 3000 thread sheets, art and new gadgets. We stopped all of that about ten years ago. Now we have a total of 6 kitchen glasses and 6 wine. 6 plates and 6 bowls Some aren't even a complete a complete set. We rent our freshly laundered, statched and pressed sheets through the linen supply company that supplies our Airbnb ($1.10 a sheet) which actually feels like a luxury upgrade instead of a scrimp. We also have a strict no gift policy with family and friends - one that was resisted at first - but is now universally appreciated by all. Gifting is the devil's work. Apart from the stress of finding and buying stuff, it's bloody expensive too and can easy suck a few thousand out of a budget each year. But it's also a huge contributor to the accumulation of unwanted things. We'd so much rather go out for a meal with friends and family. And so now would most of them. And guess what ..... despite a few giggles when we have more than 6 people over for wine and cheese, when we have run out of matching glasses and only have one platter, we've never been happier. We are also not having to have garage sales or cart loads of crap off to the opportunity shops each year ..... Any time we are tempted to buy something our rule of thumb question is - wi this end up in an opportunity ship in a few years. The answer almost always is yes. And with that we walk on and pocket the savings. And that money saved, which over a year can easily be several thousand dollars more than pays for one or two extra holidays a year. Live a cleaner simplier life throughout the year and spend your money on things, places and faces that will bring you true joy and happiness. Life adventures that you will remember fondly on your deathbed. I'm not going to take my last breath thinking about the $1500 Sheraton sheet set I purchased in 1972. And I so advise, Dr Cruise A.Lot. MD. (Master of my own Destiny)

05.01.2022 13 nights for $550.

05.01.2022 I'm a huge fan boy of the Windstar ships that were the foundation of the original Seabourn fleet. It's a great heritage because they still share many features of the newest Seabourn ships. Cabins which are almost double the size of other ships. Walk in robes. Full marble bathroons, and an alrmost identical layout of public areas. Where as seabourn has retail prices generally pegged at a min of $15-20K, similar Voyages on Windstar start at about $10K or under. As such they l...et people trade up in an affordable way from mid range cruise lines and experience a small ship six star experience. And small ship is they are. The smallest in the mass market space at only 220 people. Think about it. That's not much bigger than a 737 pax load. That is until a new program currently underway by Windstar to cut their ships litterally in half and stretch them and in so doing add about 100 new cabins. Along with additional guest facilities and amenities. I am confident they won't lose their very unique and exclusive vibe and I can't wait to sail on the newly stretched versions.

04.01.2022 Formal night. Seabourn Encore.

04.01.2022 WARNING: Corona Virus and Aircrew. I'm dealing with is on a daily basis and all cruise lines are handling this differently. Most have implemented a ban on all pax who have operated to/from or through China, and more recently, Hong Kong. The majority are using a 15 day period. Some like Paul Gauguin will let guests travel but only if they do not present with a temperature.... However, some have gone the other way and are using an arbitrary 30 day blackout period. I am noting this here to warn any staff that has, or will operate to Hong Kong in the 30 day period prior to your holidays, that this 'could' impact you. Additionally, if you are heading off to Europe or elsewhere I simply would NOT be using any option that would see you transit through China/Hong Kong. Whether you are boarding a cruise or not. Governments are getting nervous and borders can close quickly. If you do have a cruise booked - don't panic. The best and quickest way to find out the situation with your cruise line is to visit the webpage of that cruise line a statement of the company policy will be available on each.
