23.01.2022 Gorgeous New Midnight Garden by @dashwoodstudio has arrived. Its 45% linen and 55%Cotton. This fabric is slightly wider than our normal bolts. Its 57wide. This collection by Jilly P is loosely based on nature and feature birds, clouds, florals and abstracts. Black Friday is definitely an American tradition, however after researching the origins of the day and why it is such a big deal, I've decided that I like the concept. There are two things I love about it:... 1. For Americans, Black Friday falls on the day after Thanksgiving. Whilst we don't have the same tradition or meaning in Australia for this day, I think it's a wonderful opportunity as a retailer to say THANK YOU to my customers. I am so thankful for you and for your support. 2. It is known as the point in the year where businesses start to turn a profit, going from 'being in the red' to being in the black. Being a small business retailer in rural NSW, I think of my fellow small business owners and those rural businesses that do struggle throughout the year and whilst it may not be an accurate 'rule of thumb', it does make me smile and gives me a sense of pride being a small business owner in a rural community.
