10.01.2022 Hey guys, just wanted to throw up a quick post regarding water ingress, especially considering the ridiculous amounts of rain around at the moment! What we’ve found, is that driving in the rain, over 85/90kmh, the wind will force the rain water up the snorkel, and then when it reaches the top of the snorkel, because there is so much suction there the engine will suck it in. It doesn’t happen around town because you’re not travelling forwards fast enough for the wind to push ...it up the snorkel. What we do to combat this is to run an oring around the top of the snorkel when driving in the rain on the highway. We’ve just ordered 1000 of these specific orings, so if you have one of our snorkels shoot us a message and we can organise posting you one out. They are also available from Bunnings and come attached to a pvc drain fitting for around 7 dollars. This will happen on any brand of stainless snorkel unfortunately, but the oring substantially decreases the amount of water that will end up in your airbox. If you are running an aftermarket airbox also make sure that the drain hole/bung is open for everyday driving.

Experience in TIG welding, tube sanding and polishing is a must, with experience ideally working with stainless tube and/or alloy sheet. ... Experience in purge welding will also be highly regarded. You will hit the ground running, and once fully up to speed, must be able to work 100% fully unassisted, meeting quotas and time frames accordingly. With this in mind, time management is crucial. The work is production based and therefore highly repetitive and physically demanding, we specialize in 4x4 fabrication, so do not expect to be working on high performance cars. A drivers licence, preferably manual is also essential. You will be reporting directly to the Director, all hours are Monday-Friday at the workshop, there will be no mobile work, the occasional half day Saturday may be needed, but notice will be given. The position is available for immediate start and wages/hourly rate is negotiable based on experience. Please be aware you will be asked to perform a weld test if successful.
