25.01.2022 Did you set a New Year Resolution? Have you already forgotten what it was? How can you ensure that your determination to get healthier in 2021 sticks around? By creating new habits. Creating new habits takes time and energy. A new behavior won't become automatic overnight, but you may enjoy some of its benefits fairly quickly. Also, as you start to engage in stress-soothing practices, new exercise classes, walks or creative health eating, you’ll find you won't feel quite right if you stop. That's a great incentive to continue. So, keep nudging yourself in the direction you'd like to go. Unhealthy behaviors like overeating and smoking have immediate, pleasurable payoffs so they are hard to kick. Stick to your guns. You got this! Long term achievement feels wayy more satisfying than short terms self sabotage.

18.01.2022 Why? Gratitude is an appreciation of what you have. Instead of reaching for something new in the hopes it will make you happier, or thinking you can't feel satisfied until every physical and material need is met, gratitude helps you refocus on what you have, instead of what you lack. Although it may feel contrived at first, it is reported that this mental state grows stronger with use and practice. So many expressed their gratitude for having her in their lives;as a daughter, a sibling, a wife, a mother, a midwife, a cousin, an Aunty, a bright light with a loving smile and a skip in her step. She will be dearly missed by all. Today is a reminder to be grateful for the little things, as you never know when it is your time. Love this Irish prayer that was in her funeral booklet : May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

07.01.2022 Speak your truth. Satya, which can be translated as truthfulness, is the second of the five Yama’s described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra’s. Satya guides us to think, speak, and act with integrity. The Yamas and Niyamas (in the Yoga Sutra’s) provide ways in which we can not only build a better relationship with the world around us, but with ourselves too so if we can’t be honest with ourselves first, we can’t really be honest in any other part of our lives.

02.01.2022 Tadpole Gully is gorgeous. Tucked away in the corner of the valley, shaded by the huge Ghost Gums, it is a totally different eco system in here. Little pools of water trickle into one another beneath huge mossy boulders. Many frogs begin their life here, many guest enjoy their time here.
02.01.2022 Mum and Dad have been busy! All the storms have bought down quite a few trees. This huge guy pulled up the water lines when he fell. Luckily Papa Bear is pretty handy with the plumbing. The next guests have a pretty epic bonfire to look forward to!

01.01.2022 Nothing better than being outdoors in the mountains - except being outside in the mountains with amazing people. Have you heard some of the research on on the natural environmental and gut health ? It’s quite fascinating. When you go outdoors, you expose yourself to millions of microbes, many of which can benefit your body and microbiome. In fact, scientists now know that exposing children to dirt and germs is actually essential for strengthening their immune system. Low diversity in the gut is heavily associated with a higher risk of inflammation and disease. As a general rule of thumb, the more species that reside in your belly, the healthier you are. Aside from taking probiotic supplements and eating a variety of foods, one of the best ways to increase your microbial diversity is to simply step outside.
