22.01.2022 You know what really grinds my gears? My own stupidity... Let me explain: The last time I had a front loader washing machine, I promised I’d never get another. The opportunity arose to buy a spankin’ new washer so I got myself a dardy top loader. As luck would have it, that washer got recalled for causing house fires so I had to replace it. 22.01.2022 I don’t get sick often but a sinus infection knocked me for six this week & I have never looked more like a pile of shit in my life. 21.01.2022 This post is being lovingly crafted from an epsom salt + radox + bubble bath, between sips of a well earned pink gin & soda. My hair is soaking up a mask & there’s mud on my face - I’m not planning on moving for at least three business days. . My Sunday started with a 5am wake up and the rest was a blur of excitement, stress, nervousness, exhaustion & elation. I walk away from my first ever makeup competition; the Centre of Attention Make Them Stare Competition at the 2020 ...Perth Hair and Beauty Expo, having entered two worldwide open photographic entries (Bridal and Instaglam) & two physical entries (Editorial and Fantasy) with two podium finishes - one being a big W! . I have some real MVP’s to worship that helped me get through the day: MummaFixation: Pulled her home apart to locate tools to assist me with my looks that I didn’t even end up using and for providing her tailoring service for one of the girl’s outfits. Dillan: This absolute gem of a human fetched us gals a maccas breakfast & much needed coffees while providing sideline entertainment & good vibes pre-comp, then went on to taxi a crucial bag of tools that got left behind. Stacey: My very best gal pal, my eternal makeup fangirl & borderline mum. She purchased her own costume, specially crafted her nails, arrived for transformation at the crack of sparrow’s fart, sat like a champ, drove us to & from the event and waited around all day in super uncomfortable shoes while offering crazy support, hilarious commentary and reassurance as I veered towards panicked meltdown on more than one occasion. Holly: I’ve never had someone that champions my craft as loud & proud as this babe. Not only did she make it financially viable for me to even enter the comp, she drove over an hour to model for me (and back home again after), sat through back pain and sang my praises all day while I piled all sorts on her, tried to poke out her eye & even posing for multiple photos with strangers all while embodying the role of my evil queen of hearts all while looking a little TOO comfortable carrying round a bloody heart... . 18.01.2022 I have not had time to scratch my ass lately... Mumma FaceFixation sprung on me out of nowhere that after 40+ years of living in the same dump, she’s knocking it down and rebuilding. 03.01.2022 I got my foot tattoo finished today. Thank the good lord Jeebus too because foot tattoos are actually the frikken worst. On a pain scale of 1 to 10, it’s a solid eleventy billion and that’s being generous. . While getting doodled on, I experienced a clucky gaggle of heavily Italian, middle aged women (otherwise known as the real housewives of Nollamara) seemingly getting their first ink from the shop apprentice. Bless the apprentice’s little, cotton socks, she was so lovely a...nd patient with them as they had a hell of a time learning that tattoos don’t tickle. One of them had the tallest hair I’ve ever seen - it was a gravitational miracle! . 02.01.2022 My Saturday started with a well deserved, fat sleep-in and lead onto a cheeky breakfast out & soaking up the sun while cheering on mates at the softball fields I traipsed for more years than I care to remember. A spot of shopping on the way home and a couch cuddle with my sooky, chocolate muffin/menace dog and I was not in the mood to paint my mug. A bail from a sleepover buddy saw me with a night to myself that I couldn’t bare to waste so I forced myself to gettowerk. .... I was feeling a bit of a rainbow pastel vibe and & had intended to smash on a few glitter tears for a bit of extra jazz but my goldfish brain just forgot...
