25.01.2022 Is ‘Reef Safe’ safe? We discuss our hesitation to label our sunscreen reef safe in our latest episode of Let’s Face It. https://podcasts.apple.com//pod/lets-face-it/id1475618635

24.01.2022 Many people get turned off by the ‘white residue’ sunscreen leaves... but that could actually be a sign you’ve used the correct application amount! Not to be a Nanna but you need to apply approximately one teaspoon of sunscreen for each arm, leg, front and back of body and face. All up it should be approximately 7 teaspoons for a full body application. Make SPF your BFF!

23.01.2022 Tuesday eco takeover- Got some fruit that is almost reaching that funky stage (hello super brown bananas!) Whip them all together in a blender and make yourself a delicious smoothie bowl. Zero waste going to landfill and your body will be loving you for it!

23.01.2022 For the very first time, divers have planted a coral nursery on the outer Great Barrier Reef. It's hoped the restoration project will increase the growth of cor...al in the area three times faster than average. "We've finally gone to the outer reef about 56 kilometres out and we've been able to plant 10 of our coral trees" - CEO of Reef Restoration Foundation, Rob Jason. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS

20.01.2022 Raise your hand if you’ve ever said I don’t burn when I’m wearing fake tan’ If you didn’t raised your hand then you have more common sense then me Fake tanning DOES NOT improve your body’s ability to protect itself from the sun. So slip slop slap even when you’re walking into the weekend with those fresh tan feels.

19.01.2022 Skating out of this week excited for the months ahead. This week at Face It. we ticked some big admin jobs off the list (mainly Katlelyn) and after our chat with Erin on Wednesday have added another one straight back on the list. Our sunscreen samples arrived which sent us into celebration mode before realising we have a long way to go yet #calmyourfarm, we pick up some merchandise samples today and we have an exciting meeting over the weekend which we can’t wait to share m...ore with you about - Hint: it’s at the Sunshine Coast or if you listened to our latest podcast you may know what I’m talking about. We also decided over Italian and wine that our podcast episodes will be released fortnightly now that we are edging closer to our release date. You may have seen on Instagram stories that SO FAR I’ve had NO allergies to our samples #hellyeah but I’ll be testing the s**t out of them over the weekend. My sister-in-law gave me a lecture about responsible application of unknown products after she saw me throw a whole lot of sunscreen on my sensitive face so we do not recommend you follow our testing process What an epic week! Happy Friday, Sharnee x See more

18.01.2022 This afternoon we sat down with the incredible Erin, self proclaimed head honcho of @greeneryandco_ to talk all things communication for the Let’s Face It. podcast. This podcast showcases what it takes for a start up company to step up in the communications realm and what experts like Erin can do to help.

17.01.2022 WHAT AN AMAZING MORNING YESTERDAY! Katelyn, Alori and I are so incredibly proud, first of all for the turn out of yesterday’s clean up and secondly for the 71.5kg of rubbish collected!(one of the biggest rubbish collections at Mooloolaba beach ever!)These guys returned after about 15mins needing new bags. It was a phenomenal effort made by all and to think, that much rubbish was collected in ONE hour. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support @faceit.sunscreen and @p...lasticfreesunshinecoast. The rubbish was separated and counted so that it can go into a database that the government and organisations can use to better our planet for solutions!!! We can not wait to share the data with you from yesterday. All the money raised from bottles and can collection will be donated to @take3forthesea THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

16.01.2022 Flashing back to our beach clean up last year with all the amazing volunteers. When your business is barely even on the radar it’s an unbelievable feeling when you organise an event and so many people show up! Who made some environmentally conscious resolutions this year?

14.01.2022 Did you know that all marine turtle species are experiencing serious threats to their survival The main threats are pollution and changes to important turtle habitats, especially coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangrove forests and nesting beaches. Let’s do everything we can to help protect these majestic creatures!

13.01.2022 About 70% of the oxygen we breathe is produced by the oceans, why wouldn’t we do everything we could to protect it?

11.01.2022 With temperatures rising and being just a hop skip and a jump away from the weekend I thought it’d be fun to debunk some myths when it comes to sunscreen Tomorrow I’ll post a bunch of facts/ myths on our stories for you to vote and see how much you actually know about sunscreen is TRUE! The first #factthatmaybeisntafact to get us started though.... sunscreen provides 100% protection against UV radiation Do you think that’s true or false?

06.01.2022 Sunday Funday! We had SUCH a productive morning, visiting our fav @alorigapes from @clayedcoral Alori has recently started up @plasticfreesunshinecoast and we chatted about some exciting upcoming events that we cannot WAIT to tell you about! You won’t have to hold out too much longer, we should be able to share the first of the news this coming week! Sharnee & I spent the afternoon revising our action items for the week ahead and editing our podcast with Erin from @greeneryandco_ that will be going live this TUESDAY!! Bring on the week!

06.01.2022 We’re loving @calltimeonmelanoma and its tag line- #spfismybff Did you know that two thirds of Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer before they are 70?! ‘Face it, don’t fvck it’ has always been a key component of our mission and we still stand by its importance when it comes to the planet AND your skin

05.01.2022 It’s hard to believe that this picture somehow used to be the norm and people thought it was okay to ‘tan’ this way?! There is nothing safe about going out into the sun unprotected! Research is continually evolving so what may be good ‘back in the day’, actually might not be the best thing for us or for the planet anymore. #foodforthought

04.01.2022 All you need is a good dose of vitamin sea. Particularly when the surf is as good as it’s going to be the next few days!

02.01.2022 The sea is home to the world’s largest living structure the Great Barrier Reef. Measuring around 2,600km, it can even be seen from the Moon!

02.01.2022 Can you spot some familiar faces?! We’ve been quiet on our socials but busy behind the scenes! We were chosen as one of QLD’s 14 top, emerging enterprise groups to be a part of a 20 week social enterprise accelerator program to assist us in developing our enterprise to create positive social impact! It’s exciting but also terrifying as in June we’ll pitch our enterprise to over 300 people! So stay tuned because @faceit.sunscreen is going places this year!!! #elevate2020

01.01.2022 You may have noticed that recently sunscreen has been a hot topic for many reasons. One in particular is the effects common sunscreens have on coral bleaching and the degradation of our reefs. Over the past 8 months we’ve done nothing but research this topic finding studies that support what we are trying to achieve and also studies that completely crush it. Face It. Sunscreen is about being transparent so you can make informed decisions about the products you are using, so keep watching as we unfold the world of sunscreen ingredients and their true effects on you and the planet.
