Removing and disposing of damaged donations costs charities money, plus fines for littering can be up to $500. In fact, it is designed for industry to help reprocess and separate plastics, not for consumers. Just because it has this symbol doesnt automatically mean it can be recycled.... Many items with this symbol are not actually accepted for recycling through your yellow top bin in WA such as plant pots, meat trays and toys. Please always follow the advice of your local council.
