22.01.2022 Find out more about why and how we work with people and families to hand-pick support workers for particular roles.

21.01.2022 Our one-person at a time approach means that we are interested in the type of person you are, and what life experience and interests you bring to your work. Some roles involve personal care and medication responsibilities, but not all. Sometimes we are asking for you to have a particular skill or hobby you can share with the person. We scope roles and schedule rosters specific for a person’s needs at different times in the day and night, at home and out in the community pursu...ing their interests. We’ve found wonderful team members with hospitality and customer service backgrounds, where the people skills and outgoing personalities are just what we need. Former teachers can be a great fit, with skills in reading a person and encouraging their personal growth. Image credit: Sydney Bridge Climb - Bernard Spragg NZ via Flickr

19.01.2022 We are seeking a Support Worker to join a team who supports a 50 year old woman that receives 24/7 support. There is a roster of support shifts compiled and there is also an expectation that the successful applicant would be available to provide passive overnight support shifts. This woman lives in her own home in the suburb of Port Noarlunga. She requires assistance in most aspects of her life. She enjoys being part of her community. Some of her interests include dining out..., healthy eating, exercises classes, live theatre shows and gardening. It would be an advantage to be savvy around technology to assist in developing better communication skills. If you think you could be a good fit for this role, please tell us more about yourself when you apply. Image: Geranium Blaze - Michael Coghlan - Flickr

11.01.2022 Are you a mature, enthusiastic support worker with the natural drive to embrace the interests of the person you work with to connect them with their local community? I’m in my 30s, and living in Underdale. I’d like to get to know my local area of the Western Suburbs with someone who has the flexibility to work 20-25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. I’ve got a vision for an active life with meaningful relationships, where communication through my PODD means that I can get to... know others and they can get to know me, and the things that are important to me. I will need you to be a strong communicator, with skills to support me to build those relationships and keeping the focus on my vision, goals and dreams for my life. You might not have worked in this type of self-directed model before, that’s okay. My parents are by my side, and they support my team with training and establishing roles. This will start as a casual position, with a flexible schedule as we establish trust and a rhythm of working together. All applicants must have a valid driver’s licence and have or are prepared to undertake a DHS clearance, Senior first aid, Manual Handling and Assist with Medication. If you think you could be a good fit for this role, please get in touch and tell us more about yourself.

I am seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and confident person to work alongside me in my micro enterprise to assist with community engagement and studio production and administration tasks. This is a unique opportunity that offers great learning opportunities, variety, and social engagement. Work hours are 12 to 15 hours per week with regular core work on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 10am-1pm. Outside of this, additional hours, including some weekend and evening work, for trade days and other events will be negotiated.
