23.01.2022 Dear friends and colleagues, We are writing to you all at a time that none of us had ever envisaged. FACTA is comprised by many professionals in various scientific disciplines, scientific businesses and areas of education.... The current situation has impacted all of us as scientists/students/practitioners and working professionals. Some of our members have suffered as a result of the current pandemic in ways we can’t all appreciate or understand. Some of our members continue to work in the face of growing demand and pressures in their hospital and laboratory environments. Some of our members have not been able to continue their studies or undertake scientific research as a result of limitations placed upon them by the current situation. We're all in this together and it really doesn't matter who we work for or where we are in Australia, New Zealand and beyond. We all have families and friends and colleagues who we must look after, support and keep healthy as best we can. We all have people that we care deeply for in other countries, all facing their own issues and challenges; we are urging you to stay in touch with them. Acts of kindness can sometimes follow such hardship including helping each other where possible as a scientific community. Just this morning we had some help from a scientific company enabling some of our staff to continue to work from home all I had to do was ask. So I encourage all of you to put your hand up and see what you can do for each other to ride this through no matter how small the contribution every little bit helps. We will get to the other side it will take time and patience (and science!). Look after each other and take care, stay healthy and positive Best regards Dimitri, Shanlin, Tim, Jennifer, Michaela and Matthew (FACTA Inc. board)
