20.01.2022 Ok so for tonight’s shop update at 6pm it was only going to be 18 items but I may have gone full beast mode today and it’s now going to be 40 items!! These 10 opal pendants will be apart of the update. They were pendants I just took out of a store which did them no justice so I’m pleased to be able to show them off in a manner they deserve! Every one of these opals are considered to be offcuts by nearly all opal cutters which blows my mind!... I wrote a really long post about this a while back on @faefolkgemstones but I’ll touch on it again about how I’m on a mission to bring forth the use of material that would usually be discarded because it won’t make a pretty perfect oval cabochon. I hope I encourage other jewellers and gem cutters to re-think waste gemstone material. Particularly the beautiful opals that get put into jars and sold to tourists. As for my dearest customers these pendants not only use perfectly beautiful stable Australian boulder opal but the price of these pendants are in line with what a single gem quality boulder opal stone would cost wholesale let alone in a piece of jewellery. I hope I can convince at least some of you to see the beauty that opal offcuts/too hard to cut pieces still hold. I hope you love them as much as I do!

16.01.2022 Hey guys! This is the first time I’ve posted my mug on this account! So for all my followers who don’t know this daggy gal, this is the face behind all of these creations! I’m Chloe Fraser 28yrs young from Melbourne Australia.... My journey to becoming a jeweller started with making costumes for festivals and wanting to further explore on that. I would make outrageous headgear, fairy wings and feather jewellery for myself and friends. I was at the time gathering as many arty skills as I could. This lead me to do a basic jewellery course and that was it, I was hooked! I dropped everything and applied to do an Advanced Diploma in Jewellery Making and it was hands down the best decision I have ever made. Since then it has been a snowball effect, expanding out and exploring all corners of metal work and now gem cutting. Fae Folk Jewellery the brand has always been an extension of my personality and has and always will grow with me. It shows the world what kind of person I am, i've never pandered to what I think people will like and what I think they will buy, it is purely an expression of my love for metal working and rocks. It is very rare I will take pen to paper to design my work, everything gets created around the gemstones I pick. I often feel as though I have to pinch myself running this business, it will never get old knowing people genuinely love what I make. I frequently find myself getting up at 7am, getting a coffee and sitting down at my bench. I will work an 8 hour day, get my work done, put my tools down only to want to sit back down at my jewellery bench or cabbing machine and continue making. Thats how I know I am doing right thing! Thank you for following my journey! I’m glad your still here.

14.01.2022 This week I have over 50 pieces to finish along with a bunch of admin stuff, this is just a smidge of the work I’ve been able to complete today. This week will be an insane race to the finish line, meanwhile Ive come down with an extraordinarily painful debilitating ear infection. So sore to the point I can’t chew. (It’s getting better! All is well!) Meanwhile I just spoke to my dearest who pleaded for me to take it easy and rest which I replied with ‘but the faster I get al...l of this done the more time I get to spend cutting rocks!’ To which he said.. ‘So your going to try get all of your work done faster so you can do more work?’ ...yes! 09.01.2022 I’m sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately. I’ve been living my funny ole van dwelling life on the sunny coast I’ve been hoping from caravan parks, lodges, driveways, cottages, car parks you name it during my time on the road, all the while still trying to work.... I have been successful in getting this new collection under way, I’m just waiting on some saw blades so I can get started on these fresh new castings. In the meantime I’ve got a few little things in the pipelines and have been accepted as a stall holder at Eumundi. I still won’t be taking any more commissions for a while but I will post up when I will be opening back up. Until then! 04.01.2022 Even though I’ve been exploring jewellery making for many years this September marks the 3 year point of officially trading as a jeweller! I started out by moving a very small and crude collection of pieces on a terrible display into the beautiful @belgraveemporium and have grown and expanded out ever since! It has been such an amazing and fulfilling journey with so many ups, downs and hard work. It’s so satisfying to see how far I’ve brought this business.... I had a goal in mind to take this business to a full time job by the age of 30 and have been lucky to realise that goal 2 years early!
