25.01.2022 Over 1,000 pieces of clothing going out today to the hundreds if not thousands who will be housed at the showgrounds during TC Trevor. Thank you to everyone who has made it possible to help during this crisis. We still don’t know how this will impact Darwin but it’s not looking too good, so our prayers and thoughts are with anyone who is currently displaced from their homes in the Gulf. #tctrevor #communityspirit #fairdinkumdonations
24.01.2022 It’s that time of year again. Foodbank NT do some amazing work ALL year round, but this is the time of year that helps us learn the most about human nature, and every year I learn just how generous people in the NT are. Truly amazing community spirit. Christmas, no money, no food for Christmas Dinner, sad times for so many families. Can you help a family in need this Christmas? Please click on the link below for more details or simply click the link to FoodbankNT above.

17.01.2022 Ivana's 2019 RSPCA Cupcake Day NT Check our Ivanas work to raise money for the RSPCA Darwin! We have been able to donate some of the items we received as donations here at Fair Dinkum, but were not requested/required by our clients (and I hate things to go to waste) so they’ve gone to this bric-a-brac sale where all proceeds are going to a great cause to help a fellow local NFP RSPCA Darwin. Please take the time to check out her page and maybe drop past on the day to pick up a bargain! 6 weeks to go, so save the date! Happy Sunday everyone!
16.01.2022 Hi all! Well it’s been a big week and unfortunately we are just letting you all know that the International Women’s Day Clean Up is being postponed until next Friday 15th March. Please let me know if you would like to know more about it and how you can get involved 9:30-11:30am @ Howard Springs
15.01.2022 This isn’t related to our usual cause of assisting families escaping violence, however this is a great cause also. Ask if you’re in the city next weekend why not drop in and show your support to Paws Darwin

11.01.2022 We have 2 new families being rehomed this week and all the furniture and bedding items we were hoping to receive unfortunately are no longer available to us so we’re in a bit of a rush to get what we need for them! Anyone with tables, chairs, lounges, but especially bedding, please let us know. Thank you everyone! Please feel free to share with your family and friends. TIA #communityspirit
10.01.2022 Super excited to have completed our paperwork so we can become a fully fledged NFP / NGO! a massive thank you to Adrian and Jess at Cartland Law - they have been amazing. I highly recommend them; they were so accommodating in answering all my silly questions. So grateful! A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to us over the last few weeks also (and since the beginning!). Special mention to Julie and Penny- both absolutely amazing women Megan from Somerville Commun...ity Services arrived this morning to collect a large amount of items including whitegoods, beds and bed frames, shelving, tables and much more! She is an amazing young lady and I hope she doesn’t mind me giving her a plug I will be creating a fund raiser over the coming months so we can continue to grow and to help those in the community who really need the help. #saynotoviolence #communityspirit See more
08.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: Ok, so we’ve been a little bit quiet this month, and due to family reasons I need to modify the role I play regarding the services we are currently providing through Fair Dinkum Donations Darwin. We are currently working closely with a number of women’s shelters here in Darwin and other NFP & NGOs, and am seeking motivated people to join us here at Fair Dinkum Donations so that we can continue to operate and assist the victims of domestic violence and their chi...ldren and families. If you think you have the motivation that it takes to run the administrative side, and/or the ability to physical sort and store items that we receive to then pass on (free of charge) to those who need them:- then please contact us for all the information you will need to make an informed decision about how you can be involved. After more than a year of successful operation, it would be incredibly sad to cease the service all together, however unless we can find some fantastic people to put their hands up to take over the reigns for a period of time, then we will be closing operations within 6 months. We truly look forward to hearing from you! So please email or direct message through facebook for information on what it takes to keep these services going! The NFP paperwork has been done, so there is an opportunity to gain government funding for our organisation, Fair Dinkum simply require members of the community with the time, but mostly motivation and belief in the DV cause to continue and grow the organisation to where it needs to be. Thank you for reading, Julianne Fair Dinkum Donations Darwin
07.01.2022 Thank you recent messages from our beautiful members regarding where you can give donations. Currently we are not taking any donations, however can recommend Good Karma Donations for anything you may have over the next few months. It was a bit early to say why (in our last post) that we were unable to continue at this point in time... So..... I am happy to say that we are expecting our second baby! Yay! So unfortunately with two babies under 2, we’ll be putting a bit of a ...hold on our mission until I can dedicate the time necessary to do the work we so greatly believe in. We will still, from time to time, get requests through the amazing staff at many of the Darwin DV shelters and other NFP, NGO & organisations we work along side for items to assist those being rehomed here in Darwin. These amazing families will generally need bedding and mattresses, white goods and furniture such as lounges, couches and tables and chairs, bedside tables and tall boys. We will still be taking donations of these items as this is something I can still do the bigger I get and are generally collected by those needing them quite quickly. This is a cause that I hold dear to my heart, and believe in with all my might! I will let everyone know when we will be taking smaller donations again, but until then, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone, and please feel free to message the page if you need a recommendation of where you can find an agency nearby to donate to, or find assistance from. Somerville Community Services in Palmerston are an amazing agency that have a wide range of services so are always a fantastic starting point for those in need or who are looking to help a friend or family member in need. So for now, it’s over and out from us! Baby peanut is due in February 2020, and I’ll keep everyone up to date (for those interested ) on the progress of our little bean! Keep the fight going, and let’s stop the violence! Please visit #whiteribbon for information on events and activities to assist the ongoing fight against domestic violence in Australia. Thank you again to you all! #bringon2019 #whiteribbonaustralia #stopfamilyviolence

02.01.2022 Welcome to everyone who has joined our page this week! Just a quick introduction if you are new to our page... We specialise in assisting the rehousing of families escaping domestic violence, but this week is special so we’re donating all our clothing this week and next to the people who have been displaced due to the impending TC Trevor. If you want to give us a share to help that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and welcome
01.01.2022 Okay everyone, we have 2 new families being moved into empty houses. We are desperately seeking 2 x double or queens beds/bases and 6 (yes SIX!) single beds and mattresses. This is for 2 families with a total of 6 children. We are also looking for a working washing machine. If you can help, or know if someone that may be able to, please inbox us or comment below. Please share this post wherever you can as the first family are being moved on Monday and will be on the floor until we can get them some help. The last family we moved just last week cleaned all our beds out so again, we must start from scratch! Thank you to all you wonderful people who support us each time we send the requests out ‘please share’
01.01.2022 Sounds like a great idea! Why not drop by and say hello #abilities #livingwithdisABILITIES
01.01.2022 Well we’re on the countdown to Christmas Day already and there are some families who will be spending Christmas Day just surviving... Staying at shelters and learning how to put their lives back together. If you are able to assist with presents for those families who need it this year, please inbox us so we can give you details of what we’re seeking. We do prefer to give the children new gifts for Christmas as it’s a sign of what they feel they’re worth, and I want them to know that they are worth a new toy this year Please feel free to share this post, or just tag a friend or family member. Thank you everyone and let’s make this a great Christmas for those escaping domestic violence and give something back. #christmas2019 #saynotoviolence
