08.01.2022 The word on everybody’s lips at the moment is coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19. Every segment of the economy will be affected in some form, but for the horticulture industry a major concern is the supply of seasonal workers.

04.01.2022 Do you grow fruit, vegetables or nuts? Are you planning to employ anyone in the coming months? It is anticipated the coronavirus pandemic may create a shortfall... in labour available to the horticulture industry through Autumn, Winter and Spring in 2020 from regular sources, including backpackers and other overseas seasonal workers. To plan and put the appropriate measures in place it is vitally important we better understand as an industry our future labour demand. Growcom in collaboration with other peak industry bodies and Queensland Agriculture is collating information relating to the horticulture industries labour forecast. We ask all growers to complete this survey so we are able to inform government with accurate data. The survey will close next Friday, 3 April and will take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
