07.01.2022 Fairfield IEC Students Awarded in the Me, My Culture and NSW Competition Multicultural NSW and Woke partnered with the Me, My Culture and NSW competition aiming to give an opportunity for young people to celebrate diversity, share their culture and join in combating stereotypes and racism. The IEC executives decided to make this competition compulsory for all Level 3 students to submit an entry (writing or photography or film). Their English teachers guided the students and e...ncouraged them to produce high quality entries for this competition. The judges were so impressed by Fairfield IEC's students that they decided to take the unusual step by dedicating a whole section on their website showcasing 12 poems written by Fairfield IEC students. The following is an excerpt from the WOKE website. Fairfield High School Intensive English Centre Poems 'We would also like to congratulate Fairfield High School - Intensive English Centre for being the school with the most submissions. Many of the poems we received where from recently arrived migrant and refugee students from all around the world, and we would like to share their emotions and experiences. They are beautiful to read' Congratulations to all Level 3 students and their English teachers. You should all be very proud of your efforts. All students who participated will receive a Certificate of Participation and a small gift. It is great for Fairfield students to be acknowledged this way. Many thanks also to Oz Urludag for coordinating the competition.

01.01.2022 Remembrance Day in Australia is dedicated to Australians who died as a result of war, particularly from World War I onwards. A minute of silence is dedicated to the deceased, especially for soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation. Today, Fairfield High School remembers our fallen. https://drive.google.com//14Yjp1V_efOYFlJckB-r08AbzR/view
