14.01.2022 CHURCH IS ON TOMORROW Hey church, As you have probably heard, there have been 6 new cases linked to the Wacol youth detention centre with some restrictions brought in eg max 10 people in your house and outdoor gatherings. Church is on tomorrow. Places that have a covid safe plan (like us and most places eg cafes, restaurants, sport etc) can continue to meet as per the usual covid safe practices we have been following.... We continue to pray for the end of this virus and for the safety of all. So yes we are on tomorrow as per usual, though we understand if people need to be careful and take precautions. God bless, Neil

04.01.2022 FCFs Response to COVID-19 Hi church As you know the Coronavirus or COVID-19 has now been declared a pandemic and is spreading rapidly all over the world. ... The virus is particularly harmful to older people and those with pre-existing medical conditions. In our church we are closely following any directions from the Government and Queensland Baptists concerning public gatherings. At this stage we are still gathering on Sundays since we are under 100 people (but we understand if you dont feel comfortable coming) and in small groups. The church picnic however this Sunday is cancelled. We do ask that people adhere to the following control measures. Control Measures 1. If anyone has flu symptoms please stay at home and seek medical attention. 2. If you have been with someone who has been positively diagnosed with Coronavirus, please seek medical advice and stay at home if you are awaiting test results. 3. If you have recently returned from overseas, please self-isolate at home for 14 days as per Government instructions. 4. Practice Good Personal Hygiene. This means: - Wash hands with soap or use the hand sanitiser we have at the entrance. - Avoid touching your face. - Cough into your sleeve or a tissue and then throw your tissue into the bin. - Follow any other cleanliness and safety procedures already in place. For example, GLO leaders are already required to wipe down hard surfaces with disinfectant at the end of lessons. 5. No hand-shakes or hugs From now on we are recommending non-contact greetings only. Suggestions include waving, smiling, nodding, virtual high fives and the Vulcan salute. 6. Social distancing Where possible, seek to maintain a safe distance of 1.5m from the nearest person. This could mean leaving a seat or two between each other at gatherings. If there are any changes to these control measures we will let you know. What Should Our Response as Followers of Jesus Be? At times of crisis like this, we have a unique opportunity to be the heart, hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Here are some suggestions on what we can do: We can remain prayerful at all times, for our families, friends, neighbours and communities, as well as the Government and medical professionals. We can comfort and pray with those who are fearful. We can show patience, kindness, love and other fruits of the Spirit. We can share our resources with those who are struggling. Above all, we have a unique opportunity to go beyond surface level conversations and tell people that Jesus loves them and offers eternal hope in an uncertain world.
