21.01.2022 Man dies after being shot - Fairfield Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Sydney’s west this morning. Emergency services were called to William Street, Fairfield, after reports of a shooting about 2.40am (Sunday 10 January 2021).... A 34-year-old was found with gunshot wounds; and despite efforts to revive him, he died at the scene. Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command have established a crime scene and will investigate the shooting with assistance from the Homicide Squad. Sections of William Street and Harris Street will be closed, with local diversions in place. Police are advising the community to avoid the area. 18.01.2022 Man charged after public place shooting - Cabramatta A man will face court today after following a public place shooting Sydney’s south-west last month. About 10.25pm on Saturday 19 December 2020, emergency services were called to Hughes Street, Cabramatta, following reports a man had been assaulted.... Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command arrived to find a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his foot. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital. He has since been released. Following inquiries, Fairfield police stopped a black Porsche Cayenne on Cabramatta Road, Cabramatta, and spoke to the driver. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police located a pistol, ammunition, drugs, and cash. The male driver, aged 41, was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station. He was charged with six offences including; supply prohibited drug (two counts), possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, deal with property proceeds of crime, and discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm. Police will allege in court, the younger man shot the older man during an argument on McBurney Road, Cabramatta last month. The Cabramatta man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 9 January 2021).

Businesses not complying will risk heavy on-the-spot fines of $1,000 for individuals or $5,000 for businesses. There are much larger penalties for repeat offences. Authorised NSW Government officers are currently visiting and cracking down on local businesses to assess their compliance wi...th the NSW Public Health Order and COVID-Safe Regulations. 12.01.2022 A man has been charged following the death of woman in an alleged domestic violence related incident in Fairfield yesterday. About 12.10pm (Monday 30 November 2020), emergency services were called to a unit on Nelson Street, Fairfield, following a concern for welfare report. A 42-year-old woman was found inside the unit with multiple injuries and died at the scene.... Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and arrested a 60-year-old man at the scene. He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he has now been charged with murder. He was refused bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 1 December 2020).

10.01.2022 Stolen bonsai seized, man charged - Canley Vale A man has been charged after 45 bonsai alleged to be stolen were recovered from a property in Sydney’s south-west. Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation after reports of plants being stolen from homes in the area.... Following inquiries, police attended a home on Prospect Road, Canley Vale, about 2.50pm last Friday (20 November 2020), and seized 45 bonsai plants from the backyard. A 44-year-old man was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises. The bonsai have an estimated value of $30,000. The man has been granted strict conditional bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court on Friday 15 January 2020. 04.01.2022 Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was assaulted and a car was stolen during a home invasion in Sydney’s south west overnight. About 11.15pm (Friday 9 October 2020), police were called to a home on Lewis Street, Bonnyrigg Heights, following reports of a home invasion. Police have been told two men armed with firearms forced entry to the home and woke the occupants, two women, aged 45 and 67, a 46-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl who were asleep ...at the time. They were threatened, before the 67-year-old woman was assaulted with the firearm. She suffered a small cut to her face, however, did not require medical treatment. The armed men stole a 2006 Honda Jazz parked in front of the home and fled. The other occupants were not injured. Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is being treated as targeted. As inquiries continue, detectives would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist them. They are described only as being of medium build and had their faces covered at the time. 01.01.2022 Residents across New South Wales are urged to monitor weather reports and health advice as the state is expected to experience heatwave conditions in the coming days. The Bureau of Meteorology warns temperatures are generally expected to increase over the weekend. As the weather heats up, motorists are also reminded it’s not only an offence for children or pets to be left unattended in a vehicle, it can be deadly.... Everyone needs to take care in hot weather, but some people are at higher risk of heat illness, especially if they are older, live alone or are socially-isolated. Remember to; Stay well-hydrated Avoid alcohol and hot or sugary drinks Limit your physical activity Try to stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day Wear light, loose-fitting clothing made from natural fibres like cotton Regularly check your forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology on radio, TV, internet or App Get advice from your doctor about whether your medication and/or your medical conditions may affect what you should do if it gets extremely hot Make sure you know who you are going to call (who may need help, and who could provide help to you if needed); make a list of telephone numbers and make sure they are current. If you can, it's a good idea to spend some time in an air-conditioned building.
