25.01.2022 Raptor Reptiles Today along with our sister service Anna Bay we had the opportunity to meet some amazing reptiles including Snakes, a Bearded Dragon, Goanna and some frogs to name a few. Such a great experience with a lot of helpful safety information and tips in case we come across a snake. We also had a chance to learn many interesting facts. For example: Did you know that frogs use their eyes to swallow? ... We then had an opportunity to hold a real life snake! After the show we went down to the board walk and enjoyed an afternoon walk to the park where we had some lunch and enjoyed some free play on the equipment. Overall such a fun filled day was had by all! See more

19.01.2022 Week 10...Easter Week What did we get to??? OUTSIDE Yay! we took advantage of the sunshine got out on the oval the children played tips, soccer drills, practiced goal kicking, did cartwheels, running races to the back fence. We also got to take a closer look at the amount of rain we've copped at school over the past 2 weeks which has left a huge puddle on the side of oval 1 still Under the COLA we played handball, set up obstacle courses, skipped, did more gymnastic move...s on the mats and used the balance boards in different ways. INSIDE Lots of creativity at the logo table with many of the children doing there best to form letters and words. Polydon connectors brought out a competitive side with who's 'spinner' could last the longest! We did lots of Easter craft, and enjoyed eating hot cross buns, we played raid the nest & egg & spoon races. On Wednesday wevdiscovered that the Easter bunny had hidden colourful eggs all around OOSH. Congratulations for those children who decided to join in on the 5 in 5mins weetbix challenge today, with one clear winner who smashed his weetbix! 12.01.2022 Hi families this is a friendly reminder that we are NUT FREE zone! Please ensure that if your child is attending OOSH they consider others and reframe from consuming any kind of nuts or nut products prior to attending OOSH. This afternoon our group discussion involved talking about reactions that our bodies can have to certain things. We also talked about anaphylaxis, allergies, intolerances and the differences between these and generally not liking some foods and how they make us feel. We would greatly appreciate your support on this important matter and ensuring that all nut product remain at home. Thank you

The children found so many cicadas which were either still in their shells, getting ready to emerge, drying their wings, and lots & lots of empty shells, 18 to be exact today! Fun fact...Did you know the cicada lives under ground as nymphs for 6-7 years in Australia and in other parts of th...e world it can be up to 17years according to the clip we watched on David Attenborough's BBC 'Amazing life cycle of a cicada' series. Inside we've enjoyed sensory experience with scented playdough, polydron building, chess, Snap, baby dolls, name that tune and rhythm detectives. We watched 'A bugs life' on the big screen Wednesday when the heavy rain tumbled down. Made friendship bracelets and wrote friendly letters to that someone special in our lives. We practice these drills to assist the children to know their roles and responsibilities in an emergency situation while at OOSH. It's great to see our leaders (students in year 5/6) taking on more responsibility, ensuring younger peers are supported and helped to follow Educators instructions.
