11.01.2022 Construction on Fairwater’s Central Park is in full swing in preparation for summer, with bulk earthworks and draining system installation now complete. The majority of retaining walls in the park have been installed and park paths are now being laid. Top soil is being placed on the main grassy areas and the play equipment and picnic shelters are really starting to take shape! Central Park is on track for completion in late December. 03.01.2022 Over the last five years, Frasers Property has sponsored the Live Life Get Active fitness camp to bring the Fairwater community together and to encourage and aspire a healthy and active lifestyle, which is one of the main goals for Fairwater. Originally, the program was planned to run for three years, but due to our commitment to encourage healthy living, we extended this sponsorship for a further two years. Unfortunately, Live Life Get Active has been unable to secure fundin...g from Blacktown City Council or any other entity that could sponsor the program at Fairwater. Therefore the Fairwater program will come to a close on April 1st. We understand that this may be disappointing for fans of LLGA at Fairwater to hear. The good news is that there are still plenty of FREE ways to get active at Fairwater. The neighbourhood has been designed to get you moving, whether that be by going for a walk by the lake or playing by the park. The timing also coincides with the completion of Central Park, and our half-basketball court and outdoor fitness stations. These are available to use anytime you like and don’t cost a cent to enjoy. Alternatively there are still other LLGA fitness camps around the local area like Marsden Park in Blacktown and Best Road Reserve at Toongabbie, that you can continue to attend. Over the years, the popularity of the Live Life Get Active classes has been the spark for many other local fitness trainers, like Fantastic Zumba by Frances and JJ’s Remix FitCamp, to offer similar services around the community, which is great way to catch up with neighbours, meet new friends, keep fit AND support local business at the same time. 01.01.2022 The transformation of Fairwater’s 1.35km stormwater channel into a lush riparian corridor has helped to regenerate our natural environment and contribute to a beautiful streetscape for our residents and visitors. The riparian corridor was designed to reduce the potential for flooding in the surrounding area. The area has been widened and a new sandstone embankment has been built. Containing 800 trees and more than 300,000 native plants, the area now provides a natural habitat for fauna in keeping with Fairwater’s lush green spaces and surroundings. #fairwater #keepfairwaterbeautiful #fairwaterproud
