24.01.2022 FAIR WATER METERS NEWSFLASH Thank you to all our supporters for your continued interest. It should not be long now before we can supply you with your Fair Water Meter.... In order to be used for billing purposes, meters must first be approved by the National Measurement Institute. Sample meters are currently undergoing rigorous testing at an independent testing laboratory. In addition to testing for use in units, we have elected to have a second set of tests run on the meters, using a supply base that simulates the flow of water to townhouses. Although this will delay final approval by the NMI by an additional 6 weeks, we believe it will be worth the wait, as this will make it simpler for us to offer the benefit of user-pays water billing to owners of units and townhouses alike. As these meters are used in many countries in the Western world, so we fully expect NMI pattern approval will be granted soon and will advise you of the outcome immediately, so that you can place your orders.

15.01.2022 Fair Water Meters made enquiries yesterday and the National Measurement Institute are working through all the submissions they received. It is taking a bit longer than expected, due to the number of submissions received, as well as the fact that they are rather under-resourced at present. They will take the submissions into account as they consider adopting the updated international water metering standards. They still hope to have their initial report published on their website before the end of the year. We will let you all know when it appears, so you can respond to them with your comments. 13.01.2022 Fair Water Meters has taken another step towards getting individual sub meters legalised, after giving a presentation to policy officers at Minister Ian Macfarlane's office yesterday. Minister Macfarlane oversees the National Measurement Institute (NMI), which is responsible for water metering in Australia. We want to thank each and every one of you - our 12,000 supporters - for helping us to demonstrate that there is genuine public demand for sub meters to end unfair shared ...water bills. Many of you have also taken direct action by sending a formal submission to the NMI, so the message is loud and clear. Publication of the updated standard is expected very soon now, allowing Australian unit owners to have affordable retro-fit water sub-meters.
