18.01.2022 From 1 July 2019, WHM visa holders who carry out 6 months of specified work in regional areas while on their second Working Holiday (subclass 417) visa or Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa may be eligible to apply for a third visa. Eligible types of work and regional areas will correspond with the requirements for the second visa. Note: The 6 months work must all be carried out on or after 1 July 2019, so a successful application cannot be lodged before January 2020.

11.01.2022 TRAVEL BAN ANNOUNCED The Prime Minister has today announced that a travel ban will be imposed on all non resident and non Australian citizens coming into Australia from 9:00PM (Friday, 20 March 2020). This morning the Tasmanian Government announced than it will be imposing a 14 day quarantine period for all non essential travellers to that state as of midnight tomorrow Friday (20 March 2020).

RDA Central West has posted an announcement on their website re skilled visa Subclass 489 nominations The new occupations list will be posted by the 5th August 2019.... RDA Central West has requested that applicants not submit anything until the list has been published. They also want applicants to check the new occupations list before submitting on or after 5th August. RDA Central West has also guided that applications for occupations not on the list will not be accepted. See more

08.01.2022 GSM Skilled Regional (Provisional) 489 visa update Immigration SA has received a large volume of state nomination applications since the program opened in July 2019. The Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs has advised that 10 September 2019 is the last day for states and territories to nominate subclass 489 applications in SkillSelect. This will allow applicants 60 days to lodge their Skilled Regional (Provisional) 489 visa application to the Department of Home Affairs before the visa ceases on 15 November 2019. A new Skilled Worker Regional (Provisional) 491 visa will be introduced on 16 November 2019.

This means when borders re-open, students will already have visas and be able to make arrangements to travel.... - International students will be able to lodge a further student visa application free of charge, if they are unable to complete their studies within their original visa validity due to COVID-19. - Current student visa holders studying online outside Australia due to COVID-19 will be able to use that study to count towards the Australian study requirement for a post study work visa. - Graduates who held a student visa will be eligible to apply for a post-study work visa outside Australia if they are unable to return due to COVID-19. - Additional time will be given for applicants to provide English language results where COVID-19 has disrupted access to these services.

01.01.2022 South Australia - GSM Changes on 04 December 2019 Immigration SA is introducing some changes to its General Skilled Migration (GSM) state nomination policies. With the introduction of the new Skilled Work Regional (provisional) subclass 491 visa and the changes to the GSM points test, Immigration SA has reviewed the state nomination requirements and the additional requirements on the State Nominated Occupation Lists.... The occupations with a status of special conditions prior to the closure of the 489 and 190 state nomination applications, have remained on special conditions.
