24.01.2022 I know I know! We’ve been pretty quiet lately. We’re feeling like our little Rosie here - it’s the season for curling up under blankets and binge watching all those series we didn’t have time to watch over our growing season. Don’t worry though folks, the garlic is tucked in under a layer of sea grass and the broad beans are in for the long winter haul. #resttime #hibernation #winter #colebrook #southernmidlandstasmania #marketgardener #organic #tasmanianproduce

23.01.2022 So this last year has been a struggle out at Falling Rock. Colebrook has been a little hostile. Not in drought, but no water. We have worked out our future is garlic, globe artichoke and asparagus - and that ain’t bad. What this means for us is that we need to return our city base to a level of production that helps to meet Farmer Dave’s insatiable appetite for fruit & veg. They aren’t pretty but they are the start of a new lease of life for our house on the hill. Wicking beds made from IBC’s. 22.01.2022 Oh hi! No we haven’t been hibernating. Farmer Dave has been digging away and @lind1lou has been making art. We had a winter full of creamy baked leeks and juicy beetroot. Garlic is growing nicely and so are the broad beans. Snow peas are going in today and @lind1lou has planted about a million heritage tomato seeds. Market season here we come! #colebrook #marketgardener #organicproduce #tasmanianproduce #localproduce #tasmanianrestaurants #tasmaniancafe #southernmidlandstasmania #farmgate #sorellmarket

18.01.2022 Last weekend Farmer Dave and @lind1lou spent a weekend at @oldforestvalefarmstay with the fabulous Theresa and Anthony. The new wood fired pizza oven has been well and truly christened! This one was artichoke, tallegio, potato and garlic. What a cracker! #oldforestvale #woodfiredpizza #tasmanianproduce #italiancheese #matchmadeinheaven #sourdoughpizza #lifeisgood #friends #wine #newadventures

09.01.2022 Have you ever wished you had your own veggie garden - but just don’t have the time or perhaps don’t have the knowledge to get it started? Exciting news from Farmer Dave! He is now available to consult and can even create and maintain your own little organic veggie patch for you. Think about wandering out the back and harvesting your own veg fresh for the dinner table. Chemical and plastic free! Farmer Dave is also an ace at general gardening and as a qualified horticulturist with many years experience -including the wine industry - he can even give you advice or assistance in your vineyard. There isn’t much Farmer Dave can’t do!
