07.01.2022 14.3hh 11yo registered QH mare, Miss Personality. Phoebe has been a wonderful, trustworthy, reliable, and safe horse for my 13yo daughter (was 11 when she got Phoebe) over the last 2 years and some months. My daughter lost interest earlier this year, so I decided to keep her for myself and have had lots of fun on her, however the reality is that there are now only 2 riders in my family, and 6 horses is far too many for us. Phoebe has some basic reining training from her previ...ous home, with some super cool buttons, and we have used her for pony club, jump club, ag shows, and interschools, and all that entails, including dressage, gymkhanas, showjumping (up to 70cm in lessons, but she’s happiest at 60-65cm), sporting, mounted games, campdrafting, team sorting, and stockmans challenges. She has been the horse that I can go to a big buzzy competition environment, and know my daughter is safe to jump on and go. No working down needed. No separation anxiety. She’s a very clever horse, an easy doer, and best suited to an intermediate rider for pony club or adult riding club. Phoebe is quiet but is too smart and responsive for a beginner. Please don’t enquire if you are looking for a beginner’s horse or a nervous nellies horse. Yes, she’s safe, and lots of fun, but she’s an ideal young teen’s or ladies horse for a rider who can already ride with balance, confidence, and soft hands. Cons: she has done very little cross country and likes to have a look at the xc fences but will happily jump fences she is familiar with. She could do with some more xc exposure / lessons etc. She can (and will) untie herself. I swear she can hear electricity, and does not respect electric tape unless it is making that zappy sound like when it’s shorting out somewhere. She is a very sweet horse, and will only be sold to a 5 star home. She’s been well looked after with saddle fit, yearly dental, 5 week trimming cycle, balanced diet, and regular bodywork. She lives 24/7 in a paddock with a small herd with mares and geldings, and loves to play scratchies if she finds another horse willing to engage. Located half an hour from Goulburn NSW, 50 minutes from Canberra, 2hrs from Sydney. $6500 firm.
