If you are driving to Falls Creek, make sure you are prepared for the conditions 1> HAVE WHEEL C...HAINS and fit them when advised - you are legally required to and can be fined $660 if you don't. Traditional diesel fuel can freeze up in extreme cold like the -5C we are expecting. Fill your tank fully at service stations in Mount Beauty, Myrtleford and Bright and consider using a fuel additive as extra precaution. 3> CONSIDER ALTERNATE TRAVEL. If you are nervous about driving in snow conditions, consider the Park and Ride service from Mount Beauty. Taking the bus means you don't have to rent chains and can relax for your approach.
