11.01.2022 Heavy duty custom aluminium race car shaft built by Doug at Sydney Driveline Services. 1350 Spicer Universal joints. Light yet capable of handling well over 1000hp

06.01.2022 This is what you do with the alternator when there's no room left in the engine bay due to the addition of a dry sump pump. The car this axle belongs to is a 1968 Honda S800 RSC being set up for serious competition in the UK. The alternator location was stolen from a similar installation on BMW race cars..

06.01.2022 So of course this leads to resolving the 'shake' issue with my XY at over 70mph. Just happened to have lying around what I think is a Chrysler Valiant shaft running 21R Uni's, 2.75" tapered out to 3.25", a better proposition for the XY than the straight up 2.75" stock 6cyl one. It should take the ultimate safe rpm capability out to 5000, with the stock shaft being more like 3500. The Val shaft needed about 1" cut off one end, so only one end needed rewelding. It runs heavy duty Valiant yokes, better than the Ford forging. The 21R uni's - stock on just about everything from the late sixties on are good up to maybe 300hp without issue - are HD Spicer. No problems there at present. Shaft is properly welded, straightened & balanced by me on our balancing machine..
