21.01.2022 Five new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed between 8pm on 28 June and 8pm on 29 June, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 3,189. All of today’s new case...s are those of returned travellers in hotel quarantine. A total of 12,950 tests were notified in the reporting period, compared with 11,833 tests in the previous 24 hours. NSW has carried out more than 855,000 COVID-19 tests. Due to the concerted effort of all residents, NSW has successfully supressed COVID-19 to very low levels. However, Victoria is seeing increased COVID-19 activity within some areas of Melbourne. These areas are being closely monitored and interventions to prevent further transmissions from these areas are being implemented by the Victorian Government. More information is available at: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/response-outbreaks-covid-19 Non-essential travel between Melbourne and New South Wales is discouraged. In addition, restrictions on workers and visitors who have been in Melbourne in the previous 14 days to high risk settings have been implemented. Further restrictions may be implemented as the situation evolves. NSW Health will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide regular updates to keep the public informed. There are currently 56 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health, with none in intensive care. In NSW, 2,784 people are known to have recovered from COVID-19. Since 29 March 2020, 3,450 symptomatic returned travellers have been tested in hotels, with 109 of those (3 per cent) found positive. Travellers are also screened on day 10 of quarantine. Since this screening began on 15 May 2020, 12,534 returned travellers have been screened on day 10 of quarantine with 67 found positive. NSW Health is urging anyone feeling unwell with even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat to isolate from others and to seek testing via their GP or by visiting one of the COVID-19 testing clinics. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available here: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectio//Pages/clinics.aspx To minimise the risk of spreading the virus, it is essential all people follow directions they receive about home isolation and quarantine. Everyone should continue to maintain physical distancing of 1.5 metres and regularly wash their hands.

01.01.2022 Novel coronavirus (COVID-19): There is no need to bulk-buy products at supermarkets including toilet paper, paracetamol and canned food. It is practical for ho...useholds to have a small stock of non-perishable groceries to cover the event that in the coming months the household has been asked to self-isolate for 14 days. However, it’s important to note the role of family and friends in supporting those in isolation and also to note that online grocery delivery services are now available in most areas of NSW. The best way to protect yourself is the same as you would against any respiratory infection. Practice good hygiene by: - cleaning your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub - covering your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or a flexed elbow - avoiding close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms. - making sure you stay home if you are sick.
