24.01.2022 What better way to end 2020 than to celebrate with work family! What fun we had!

21.01.2022 Children under 2 years only need a tiny smear (or the size of a rice kernel amount) of paste on their brush that a parent needs to dispense. From 2-6 the kids can have about a pea size amount of toothpaste but make sure you dispense it still as kids should not ingest too much Fluoride containing paste either. From 6 years and older they can have a little more than a pea size as by that time they have learned to spit out most of the paste.

20.01.2022 Do you want to work for 3 days a week at a multi-award-winning practice in the beautiful town of Yamba? Are you an experienced dental nurse with a passion for great dental service and enjoy working with all ages (but especially children) ? We are expanding in 2021 and need the perfect dental nurse to join our team in February 2021.... Interviews Dec.2020. Send your CV to [email protected]

19.01.2022 We are expanding in 2021 in more ways than one. Two positions available from middle Feb.2021 . It will be here before we know it so send your resume sooner rather than later. Please send your resume to [email protected]

19.01.2022 It all starts with gum disease...and if unstopped the teeth become mobile as bone and attachment is progressively lost.

18.01.2022 Consider the fact your childhood toothbrush might still be out there. We should re-use that plastic by recycling through companies like Terracycle. They make veggie garden frames and park benches (amongst other things) from the recycled plastic they collect. We collect and send your dental waste to Terracycle on your behalf. Just drop off your clean empty toothpaste tubes, tooth brushes and electrical brush heads and we’ll do the rest!

17.01.2022 Have you had your teeth cleaned by a qualified, professional, gentle oral hygienist? Well you should give Estelle a try! She’s a genius when it comes to her field of expertise. Available at Family Dental Yamba and Grafton so your maintenance and preventative care stays a priority.

17.01.2022 Theoretically the moment your child has their first tooth erupt, it is a good idea to come see a dentist. In reality, life is busy and babies are hard to let us have a good look until they are familiar with our environment. As such, if your baby has siblings, we recommend you just bring bubby along to their visits and eventually they will want a turn as well. If you are concerned about anything or have questions about their dental care-sooner is better! We welcome all ages and we have a few tricks up our sleeves to try and get a peek.

16.01.2022 Asleep, no stress, all done. That is what treatment under general anaesthesia is like. If you or your loved one needs care beyond what their abilities allow , remember our dentists can perform dental treatment in the safe environment of St.Vincent’s hospital in Lismore.

16.01.2022 As of January 11th we will be asking all our patients to scan in when they enter the practice. You will also be asked the usual screening questions when your appointment is confirmed. Let’s all help keep our community stay safe by taking the right precautions and not taking risks!

12.01.2022 Nikitta said she will never have a tooth ache again Our carpenter offered his drill to me this morning-I have to kindly decline the offer on other patients

11.01.2022 When we consider what foods and drinks our teeth come in contact with, we consider their sugar contents, fluoride contents and acidity(pH). Generally the acidity of sparkling water is a little lower than tap water. Some types of bottles water, sparkling or not may have the fluoride removed from it. As dentists we highly recommend having fluoride on your teeth topically (young and old) and so if you have a choice, choose the option containing fluoride. That also means we rec...ommend fluoridated tap(town) water over any other water form. If it’s the fizzy feeling you crave, the sparkling water is generally MUCH better than other fizzy drinks that are acidic and have a low pH. Try to keep drinks that could have a lower pH to meal times. Remember, adding any flavour to any form of water can cause it to become more acidic. That includes a slice of lemon in your normal tap water and flavoured bought water. So consider what the water contains and if in doubt, have it with meals instead of between meals.

09.01.2022 Feel free to collect your bread/plastic bag tags and drop them off to us. We will then get it to the right people. We can make a difference together! Less plastic wasted and poluting the environment and also helping those in need. Win-win!

06.01.2022 A bit of humour for your Wednesday.

04.01.2022 5 Quick Toothbrush Facts: 1. A toothbrush should be replaced on average every 3-4 months. When bristles fray, they become less effective at removing plaque and food debris. 2. Electrical toothbrushes have been proven to be at least 20% more effective than their manual ‘brothers’. 3. Toothbrushes are best stored in the open air so they can dry. When it is stored in a closed container, the bacteria on them may find it an ideal environment to breed and multiple on the tool you a...re using to do just the opposite. 4. Soft bristles are better as they are less likely to cause damage to your teeth. 5. The most common toothbrush colour is BLUE. See more
