08.01.2022 COVID-19 It's not business as usual. Family Eye & Vision Centre is abiding by a directive from the Department of Health that all optometry practices in Australia postpone all routine eye checks from Monday 30/3/20.... We will no longer be open for regular hours and all visits to the practice are now strictly by appointment only. Please phone ahead on 3488 2280 and we will provide advice as to whether it is safe to postpone your visit to the practice. Everybody will be assessed individually by phone, but some examples of people with a genuine need that cannot wait include those people who are seeing flashes or floaters have a red or sore eye have noticed a sudden change in vision are seeing double as a parent are worried about their child's sight have run out of their prescription eye drops have lost or broken their prescription glasses If you have spectacles or contact lenses on order, please phone the practice to arrange a time to collect them. We will only allow entry into the practice people who are well and who have not travelled overseas or been on a cruise ship in the last fourteen days. We do not have access to masks. If you have an urgent condition but have been asked to self-isolate due to the possibility of COVID-19 infection we recommend that you contact the Princess Alexandra Hospital emergency department as their staff will have access to masks and other protective gear.
