23.01.2022 We all feel the need for renewal - time out to recover relationships, to evaluate choices, to remember what matters most. Homeschooling, like everything else in parenting and life can be full on. We get caught up in the business of life. We keep moving cos if we stop we don’t know if we can start again. For many of us, each day is a struggle - we juggle family, parenting, house, homeschool, work, kids with special needs, mental health or other health issues and many of us d...o this all alone, as single parents - or unsupported in a marriage or relationship we wish was better. Many of us are tired. We wonder if our efforts are good enough. And so - our need for time out. I love camping with my kids. I love being outside. I love time to think, reflect, evaluate. It’s not perfect. The problem with pain is that we carry it with us. Pain still comes camping. But it’s worth it. This weekend we are at Katoomba Easter Convention. I am thankful to be here. For me, Easter is a significant time. I am thankful to remember that God is Kind. That He loves me. That Jesus is everything I need. Where are your special places? Where do you feel renewed and find strength to go on? My prayer is that each of you can take time this weekend for relationships, for renewal, for peace and hope.

They have to pack the curriculum out double thickness with supports just to make it stand because they are not free to take children on the natural, simple, interesting journey of life-long learning. 15.01.2022 Homeschooling kids of multiple ages, abilities, learning needs and interests can be challenging to say the least. Parents often ask about preschool-aged children and how they can fit in with their older siblings. Upfront, I have to say, I think 2-year-olds are the hardest! They eat the glue and the scissors are no longer a safe tool. If you're homeschooling with a 2-year-old, always remember - they will be 3 next year Preschool-age children love to learn and they often wa...nt to 'do school' with the big kids. Simply Homeschool Core Programs are designed to be flexible and work across a large age range, and so preschoolers can often participate. Encourage them to listen to the reading and join in with hands-on activities. You don’t need to understand science for your 16-year-old to study Advanced Human Biology. You just need to find them a very good program that suits their needs and interests. 06.01.2022 The idea of homeschooling can feel unfamiliar. It might be unsettling, particularly after the structure of traditional school. Homeschool is when we know our children’s needs and interests, and provide many learning opportunities to meet these in a real life way. ... We have to trust our instincts more and know our children better. The responsibility feels heavier because we only get one chance to raise our children. Homeschool is not neatly packaged. It is a journey. It may feel like you’re out of your depth sometimes, but as parents we’ve already taken the leap. We are raising adults. This is our long term goal.
