21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Heads up on below potential to port delays etc with pending Cyclone Oma if she continues on track. Good afternoon, As you would be aware, current forecasts suggest Tropical Cyclone Oma is heading towards the south-east Queensland coast.... Based on advice from the Bureau of Meteorology, the Regional Harbour Master has advised the Port precinct can expect: Strong SE winds from Thursday increasing to Gale and Severe Gale force, before easing on Sunday Night. Swells in excess of 5m are expected. Such conditions could potentially lead to interruptions to waterside operations, including impacts on pilotage and delays for ‘high windage’ vessels, and the risk of disruption to landside operations. The Regional Harbour Master will advise further on waterside operations, and PBPL will communicate those as soon as possible. PBPL can advise that currently there are no plans to interrupt road or rail access in the Port precinct. Should this change, we will advise all Port stakeholders immediately. However, we strongly advise that all Port stakeholders immediately begin their own preparations for this weather event. In particular, we urge all tenants to ensure loose objects are tied down, and container stacks or other high stockpiles be reduced in height or secured where possible. As more information comes to hand, PBPL will issue Port Alerts with new information. 18.01.2022 HI Everyone, Please find below port update regarding port interruptions. This will impact vessel arrivals & discharging of vessels and will impact deliveries next week. Port Alert - Tropical Cyclone Oma update #3 As you may be aware, the Bureau of Meteorology has continued to update its forecasts regarding Tropical Cyclone Oma. For more information, click here ... While current forecasts suggest Oma will not cross the coast, we will still see severe winds across the entire weekend and into early next week. These winds could be in excess of 40 knots in Moreton Bay. Due to these conditions, the Harbour Master has suspended pilotage, as well as all removals and departures. The Harbour Master will be reviewing these suspensions regularly, and we will update you as more information comes to hand. As per previous Port Alerts, there are no current plans to curtail road and rail access to the Port precinct. Any changes will be communicated immediately. Again, please ensure you have made all preparations to secure loose items on your sites. Safety remains our number one priority.
