24.01.2022 ‘The Lavender bay Bench’ this was a great little project with the objective of hiding all the pool equipment whilst providing a nice spot to sit and take in the views The timber species we used is Teak. Teak is perfect for homes close to the ocean as it is one of the most stable timbers meaning it is least likely to expand and contract. It’s also one of the most durable timbers being resistant to rot and termites. 10.01.2022 The Dome skylight ready to install....and how good does that copper look @copperandzincroofingco FANDR TIP - We had a hard time cladding this dome in ply as the curve was so tight. We did get there in the end by finding the sweet spot that the ply can bend in two directions. Layers of Special bending ply and some patience and your well on your way!

08.01.2022 We are making some curved trims today and they are coming out great FANDR Tip - there are a few different methods when bending timber. You can steam it, you can heat it up, or you can do what we did in this case and use multiple laminations wrapped around a template. 02.01.2022 Here we had to come up with a way to attach our 90x90 post to our 90x90 beams. The larger Dowel in the centre has 2 locking pins. 1 into the beam and the other into the post both passing through the larger dowel, this prevents any uplift. The 2 smaller pins are called locating pins and they will prevent the post from twisting. FANDR TIP - Always be sure to paint your cuts or wherever you expose end grain or raw timber if it’s primed. Sealing the timber is crucial to its longevity. #carpentry #carpentrylife #craftsman #building #architecture

01.01.2022 Halo number 2 getting shaped! This one was a lot smaller than the last one we made, which made it a bit easier to manipulate, however the process remained the same.
